Democrat Party denies delegates to Obama challenger on affirmative action grounds

snipe 2012/07/10 00:03:38

The Democrat primary was not an entirely smooth cruise to re-election for Barack Obama. One little squall of embarrassment blew up in Arkansas and Louisiana, where lawyer John Wolfe Jr. pulled in enough votes to win delegates to the Democratic National Convention in North Carolina.

The Democrat Party in both states scrambled to find a way to re-write their rules to deny Wolfe his little band of delegates, and finally hit on the idea of invoking… affirmative action.

The Times-Picayune of New Orleans reports: “The Arkansas Party denied Wolfe delegates because he failed to file a delegate selection plan committing to ‘assist the Arkansas Democratic Party in meeting demographic representation goals reflected in the Affirmative Action Plan.’ The state party’s goals are that the national convention delegation be 23.7 percent African-America, 9 percent Hispanic, 1.35 percent Native-American, 1.95 percent Asian-American and Pacific Islander, 23.5 percent seniors, 7.8 percent Arkansans with disabilities, 5.8 percent lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, 12.7 percent young Democrats and 7.8 percent veterans.”

The Louisiana Party denied Wolfe his delegates “on the same grounds,” even though he bested the 15 percent threshold to earn delegates in three congressional districts.

Wolfe responded by noting that it would be rather difficult to pack that much “diversity” into a delegation of three or four people from Louisiana or Arkansas, respectively. He might have been able to do it by locating a half-black, half-Hispanic transgendered World War II veteran with high cheekbones suggesting a dash of Native American ancestry, but he doesn’t get to hand-pick the delegates that way. Wolfe ended up with two men and two women in Arkansas, three of them white, although he cheekily apologized in court papers for failing to inquire as to their sexual orientation.

If you look closely at the 0bama vs. Hillary 2008 primary campaign, it was the same thing. This is more Affirmative Action campaign assurances for the country's first Affirmative Action president.

    So much for merit!

About 25% of those delegates should be otherwise unemployed, also.

I am familiar with John Wolfe. Lots of people on the left and right think he's a nut, but I've always liked him and his sense of humor!

Leave it to the "PARTY OF LAWYERS" (I mean LIARS!) to screw even their own! Amazing what lengths (Or depths) they will go to (Or sink to!) to get their nasty agenda justified! Shakespeare said it like it is (Or should be!) "KILL ALL THE LAWYERS!"! America needs to realize that blood-sucking Lawyers are going to F*ck this country from the inside out, and if we don't get them out and soon, we will have to get more lawyers to sue the ones in office!! No one needs that kind of crap in their lives!

Since a black man has reached the highest most powerful height in American politics. Simply because he is black, would that not suggest that, colour is no longer a barrier for ethnic minorities to progress in America. So, the need for positive discrimination(affirmative action) should, no longer be necessary and its continuance can only be seen as a deliberate, oppressive measure to hold whites back from progressing.

"finally hit on the idea of invoking… affirmative action."

The POTUS needs affirmative action to get a "head start" because of his Blackness?
Me thinks affirmative action has out lived its usefulness and should be repealed................

Sounds like Obama's MO. He got the three people running against him in Chicago thrown out in ways just like this so he ended up to be the only one on the ballet.

    Just like a dictator.

    What the?
(Ay, yi, yi .. 'Game the system' .. )
NOTE how the DNC isn't even ASHAMED of this tactic either ..

(me .. if the only reason I got the job .. or the delegate was because of being able to check a little 'box' .. then NOPE that would be shameful indeed .. (and not based on merit of actually EARNING that position or delegate))

    bingo

That primary campaign was nothing but dirty, and the LSM, perhaps for Affirmative
Action reasons, not only did not reveal how dirty it was, they took the lead in
using race to discredit his opposition and covered up any negative information
which came out, like Bill Ayers, Rev Wright, his secrecy in sealing all his records, all
of which might have revealed his total lack of experience and qualifications to
be the leader of the free world. Was that all "Affirmative Action" which has been
promoting people on the basis of race instead of merit for years, and is it now time
to get rid of Affirmative Action?

The other question, of course, are we now going to reelect a failed POTUS on
    the basis of Affirmative Action?

BTW, most people on SH know that I was a Hillary supporter in 2008, or at least
they should because I have said it many times. I saw these things happen in
the 2008 campaign because I was paying attention and because I did the research
to see who this man really is, his record and how he campaigned and ran for
POTUS. Unfortunately all the "empty suit" qualities I saw in him in 2008 have
turned out to be true, and he is an incompetent leader........ an "Affirmative Action
POTUS", as you have called him!
