A medal is what he should be given.
It takes courage to walk away from a murderous, criminal organisation.

Desertion from the United States Military should be punishable by law with no statute of limitations and anyone found to be guilty of that should have to face the consequenses of their actions. The military is an honorable profession with more opportunities than any other job or career could provide. Everyone should serve in some way shape and form. There is no honor in deserting the military at all and he should have to face the consequenses of a long and lengthy jail term.

He was AWOL much longer than GWB was AWOL, so he should be punished. Or, perhaps what is good for one is good for another, regardless of the duration? Tough
    question, isn't it?
