Dallas experiences first White Christmas in more than 80 years...

OKLAHOMA CITY — A fierce Christmas storm dumped more snow and ice across the nation's midsection Friday after stranding travelers as highways and airports closed and leaving many to celebrate the holiday just where they were.

Meteorologists predicted the slow-moving storm would glaze highways in the East with ice through Christmas night and that gusty thunderstorms would hamper the South. An ice storm warning was issued for parts of West Virginia and the Blue Ridge mountains in North Carolina and Virginia, while a wind chill advisory cautioned of temperatures as low as 30 below zero in Montana.

If we could just get rid of all that darn CO2, then we wouldn't have all this snow to deal with. :)

This is not true at all. While I live 5 hours from the Dallas/ Ft.Worth Area I was in Dallas in 1983-1984 christmas time andf they had a horrible snow storm come through. It was so rare that this would happen, people were clueless on how to drive on snow and icy, I remember people were driving and spinning in the middle of the express way and clueless.
I was there and it was not 1929 it was the 1983-84 Christmas season.

It was a very pretty Christmas Eve here. But some people were seriously delayed due to having their tires frozen to the highway west of Ft. Worth. Hopefully everyone is home or at their destination, warm, fed and having a story of Christmas Eve that they can regale their friends with the rest of their lives.

It was so beautiful! I never dreamed I would see a white Christmas here in Texas. I had been too busy to even notice any weather reports, so when the snow began to fall yesterday it really caught me by surprise. While I feel badly for those stuck here with plans for celebrating their Christmas elsewhere, it was a lovely gift for my family and me.
