Critics Said Joe Biden Acted Disrespectful Like a Cranky Old Man During VP Debate with Ryan: Agree?

Vice President Joe Biden (D-DE) went on the offensive during his Vice Presidential Debate with Paul Ryan (R-WI) -- and some people considered the Vice President offensive. Chris Wallace said, "I don't believe I've ever seen a debate in which one participant was as openly disrespectful of the other as Biden was to Paul Ryan tonight... It was openly contemptuous and disrespectful."

Chris Wallace has seen every presidential and vice-presidential debate after 1960. Wallace called Biden's performance "unprecedented" in his shameful behavior. Biden continuously interrupted Paul Ryan. Some counted Biden interrupting Ryan as many as 82 times.

Democrats put a lot of pressure on Biden to make up for President Barack Obama's lackluster performance during his first debate with Governor Mitt Romney. Biden may have gone too far in the other direction. In fact, Brit Hume called Joe Biden a cranky old man: And what you saw while Paul Ryan was talking, as others have pointed out was smirking, laughing, smiling, mugging by the Vice President. My sense about it was that it was so compelling that people probably couldn’t take their eyes off it. So it will come down to whether people thought that was attractive or not. Myself, I didn’t. I thought it was rude and I have a feeling it will come across to a lot of people as rude. It looked like a cranky old man to some extent debating a polite young man.

BUSINESSINSIDER.COM reports:Fox News anchor Chris Wallace hammered Vice President Joe Biden's excessive smiling and laughing during the debate, saying that he's never seen anyone be so disrespectful in a presidential or vice presidential debate.

This was a debate - no holds barred - excuse the expression. So, no - neither was disrespectful to the other. On the other hand - when you keep interrupting your debate partners comments - it just kind of looks idiotic.

It's a classic debating technique (albeit, a failed one) that when you can not win an argument on substantiated empirical points, you harass and mock your opponent. It will come down to whether Americans are intelligent and truth-seeking enough to see through the antics and realize this. (Same goes for Obama's antics, er, "facade", of being "calm, cool, and collected" to cover his inexperience, his communist agenda, and his cluelessness.)

I truly hope that Romney wins this election because Obama has lied to the American people to save his campaign because of a successful terrorist attack and another thrwarted attack that proves Al Quaida and other terrorist groups have grown under his weak policies.
The Muslim Brotherhood has proliferated since Obama has supported them during the Arab Spring and Biden, Clinton, Panetta, Rice, Stephanie Cutter, Jay Carney and especially Barrack Hussein Obama directly lied about our "friendships" in the Middle East.

In January our military will be in a "devastating" condition, just like Obama has always intended. He abhors our troops and has demeaned them ever since he entered politics!

Compared to to Romney's utter non-stop disrespect in his first debate? No comparison, your all grasping for straws. Biden kicked that wimpy little turds ass and had him stuttering worse than Obama in the first debate when he realized Romney switched all his stated policies and ran to the center.

"Critics said" You mean some right wing bloggers and some fox news hosts? That is to beexpected no matter what actually happened. Ryan could of had a mental break down and the right would call it a win. It is funny, how lost the right is right now. Get ready for 4 more years of Obama because it is on its ways, because the right has went bat sh$t crazy in the past 4 years. So much so that many of the further center right wings have jumped ship in hopes the GOP gets there stuff together 4 years from now. OK lets come back to reality for a minute.

    Ryan lies:

    >>>The Affordable Care Act is a government takeover of healthcare.
"President Obama, he had his chance. He made his choices. His economic agenda, more spending, more borrowing, higher taxes, a government takeover of health care."
    -- Paul Ryan

    The Truth:
Every American citizen will be required to buy private insurance, and pay for their own healthcare. If anything, this sounds more aligned with conservative principles than those of liberals, who would most likely favor a truly government-run system like we see in parts of Europe.

    >>>President Obama promised unemployment below 8 percent.
"They passed the stimulus. The idea that we could borrow $831 billion, spend it on all of these special interest groups, and that it would work out just fine, that unemployment would never get to 8 percent."
    -- Paul Ryan

    The Truth:
This one has been debunked time after time, but Ryan continues to double-down. Ryan is likely referring to a report by then-chairwoman of the Council of Economic Advisors, Christina Romer, who made various projections surrounding the stimulus plan, passed in 2009. One of her projections was that unemployment, with the passage of the stimulus, would peak just below 8 percent. She made clear, however, that "the estimates presented i...

One of her projections was that unemployment, with the passage of the stimulus, would peak just below 8 percent. She made clear, however, that "the estimates presented in this memo are subject to significant margins of error." Regardless, an economic projection is hardly a promise.

    >>>President Obama disrespected Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu.
Our enemies "see President Obama in New York City the same day Bibi Netanyahu is and he, instead of meeting with him, goes on a daily talk show."
    -- Paul Ryan

    The Truth:
First off, this is simply inaccurate. On the week of September 24, both President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the United Nations in New York City. And yes, the two did not sit down for a meeting -- because they weren't in town at the same time.

President Obama was in New York on Monday and Tuesday, and sat down for a recording of The View on Monday. Netanyahu did not arrive until later in the week, on Thursday. Either way, it's patently ridiculous to contend that allies are allies based on how many times they sit down for a cup of coffee

Now on to the lies in his speech:

    1. “A downgraded America.” Ryan blamed the president for the nation’s credit downgrade in August 2011 after Republicans threatened to allow the government to default on its debt for the first time in history. But the ratings agency explicitly blamed “Republicans saying that they refuse to accept any tax increases as part of a larger deal.”

    2. “More debt than any other president before him, and more than all the troubled governments of Europe combined.” Romney has made the almost identical claim, that Obama has amassed more debt “as almost all of the other presidents combined.” But their math doesn’t add up: when Obama took office, the national debt was $10.626 trillion. It has increased to slightly above $15 trillion
    .
    3. Shuttered General Motors plant is “one more broken promise.” Ryan described a GM plant that closed down in his hometown, Janesville, Wisconsin, and blamed Obama for breaking his promise to keep the plant open when he visited during his campaign. But Obama never made that promise, and the plant shut down in December 2008, before Obama even took office.

    4. Obama “did exactly nothing” on Bowles-Simpson. Ryan said, “He created a bipartisan debt commission. They came back with an urgent report. He thanked them, sent them on their way, and then did exactly nothing.” In fact, Ryan was instrumental in sabotaging the commission, leading the other House Republicans in voting against the plan.

    5. “$716 billion, funneled out of Medicare by President Obama.” Ryan’s favorite lie is a deliberate distortion of Obamacare’s savings from eliminating inefficiencies. Furthermore, Ryan’s own plan for Medicare includes these savings. Romney has vowed to restore these cuts, which would render the trust fund insolvent 8 years ahead of schedule.

    6. “The greatest of all responsibilities is that of the strong to protect the weak.” Ryan closed the speech with an invocation of social responsibility, saying, “The truest measure of any society is how it treats those who cannot defend or care for themselves.” However, numerous clergy members have condemned Ryan’s budget plan as “cruel,” and “an immoral disaster” because of its devastating cuts in social programs the poor and sick rely on. Meanwhile, Ryan would give ultra-rich individuals and corporations $3 trillion in tax breaks.

    On to the Romney lies:

    >>Says Barack Obama began his presidency "with an apology tour."

    >>"In one year, (President Obama) provided $90 billion in breaks to the green energy world … into solar and wind, to Solyndra and Fisker and Tesla and Ener1."
    Link of the truth: http://www.politifact.com/tru...

Says President Obama has "doubled" the deficit.
The deficit is actually down slightly from what Obama inherited
    http://www.politifact.com/tru...

"Right now, the (Congressional Budget Office) says up to 20 million people will lose their insurance as Obamacare goes into effect next year."
    Wrong before, wrong now
    http://www.politifact.com/tru...

"Redistribution" has "never been a characteristic of America."
Some don't know much about history
    http://www.politifact.com/tru...

The "48, 49 percent" that supports President Barack Obama are "people who pay no income tax."
    Plenty of non-payers support Romney
    http://www.politifact.com/tru...
