Cremation or Burial? Where would the Christian Faith be today if Jesus had been cremated after the crucifixion?

This question has been plaguing me for some time and it's never been satisfactorily answered by anyone I've asked. My own personal choice until two years ago, was cremation. But then, I attended the funeral services for my best friend and when his family carried in a little urn, rather than an open coffin, I felt that I had been cheated out of saying goodby to my dear friend of 70 years. I realized then that the viewing of the corporeal remains of a loved one is important.
Then I started to think about where the Christian faith would be today had Jesus been cremated after the crucifixion. Would the story have been the same? Would there even be a Christian faith? Please, no sacrilegious comments.

Jesus was not a Roman or Roman Citizn. Paul could have had cremation but I rather doubt the early church let that happen.reply - Waldorf 2012/08/07 14:08:15
Not to be irreverent at the expense of lame humor, but it occurred to me that we could say he went up in smoke.reply - JanHopkins 2012/08/07 13:45:20
If God can raise the dead he can surely put back together ashes. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.reply - Cunning Stunts 2012/08/07 13:09:16

I'd suggest you take a look at my bio and compare it to yours . . . then ask the question: "Which of us need to get a fekin life?"reply - Tom R 007 2012/08/07 08:26:56
