Patriotic 2010/03/09 04:44:12 (edited)+2I don't know why everyone is trying to blame this issue on Obama. China owned America way before he took office. Our leaders (Republican & Democrat) have sold us down the river a long time ago. Wake up people, and quit pointing the finger at one person or party. It's all irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. When we point fingers at Obama or Bush, we are playing into the hands of the special interests. They have no loyalty to any country or party. They only care about money and power.

Globalism is about the socialists stealing everything around the world and the stupid idiots of the West just keep handing everything over.reply - jimiwhitten 2010/03/10 20:49:19
Hold on guys - China has to have someone to sell to - it is in their best interest to keep us able to buy!reply - Rob 2010/03/09 05:10:14
They already own us.....if they dumped all their treasury holdings we would be done....Why do you think that Geithner keeps going over there. This isn't new, but Obama put his foot hard on the accelerator.reply - Patriotic 2010/03/09 04:44:12 (edited)

+1okay... even though i wrote my comment a long time ago, i just realized that i pointed out something quite obvious.. anyways, my point was I dont think Obama would've owed china THAT much in 4 years so he shouldnt be the one being blamed like what the dude named Patriotic said. he didn't start this. even though he's like... not on of my favorite presidents, i don't think he should be blamed for something that started a long time ago before he served the us as a president. sure, I'm chinese and sure, i'm very young, only 12 years old, but i know i have enough common sense to know what's right and should be done most of the time and blaming obama for the economy now is not gonna help. what's really gonna help is for some people to start working and not slack off too much. honest comment.reply - Patriotic trinali... 2012/08/17 21:29:52

China already owns most of our debt that we will NEVER be able to pay back. Communist China will OWN us in the future, sadly the near future I fear. America is entering a point of no return era.

+1What kills me is that I have seen this coming for well over 25 years. I worked at a company that sold a high tech automatic semiconductor tester to China in 1985 and they paid cash and never talked to us again. It was obvious they wanted to reverse engineer even back then. So why did Uncle Ronnie and every politician since ignore the situation? This is the result of ignorance in government in both parties, so why aren't we cleaning house of all the old dead wood? Since both Japan and China are heavily invested in our real estate it could get real interesting.reply - Curious George 2010/03/07 07:00:00

That would be one of the worst policy decisions ever...They trump us on aspect that everyone overlooks - they have people, and lots of them. Would you join the military and fly over to China to fight against them? They outnumber us 3-1 and their people are "more" willing to go to war if the government forces them. If you don't go to war here, you are sent to prison and get feed three times a day. If you don't go to war over there, you are most likely shot and made an example of...reply - Curious... i said trade war you dumb ass, not an actual shooting war. hell that would be ww 3...... but then again we do have a missile shield to shoot down there nukes while ours would fry them if that nightmare ever came true.reply - ItsAlwa... Curious... 2010/03/12 17:07:01

With as much capital China has invested in the USA they probably already own the country. China has tried to tell this knucklehead obummer to knock off the spending. Cause that's China's money obummer is spending. They need the USA to remain viable or they too may go belly up...............reply - gsteinum 2010/03/06 11:33:45 (edited)
+1china , in my opinion, can do that at any time, irregardless of the current trade conditions. they can not as your graphic implies, nationalize any chinese investments in the u.s. will they? who can figure out the inscrutable chinese? they don't seem to be headed in that direction, by any known measure. there is more than the u.s. putting pressure on china to accurately value their currency, according to article cited. china has much invested in their trade with the u.s. to me, it seems likely, they will loose a major source of income should they nationalize, as the u.s. could stop trading with them. other nations that are pressuring them could do this as well. it is abundantly clear, as this is a long-standing problem, that china will not accurately value their currency until forced to do so. the criticism lodged by many countries at china is valid.reply -
china has invested heavy in usa malls, highrises, theme parks, cattle, agriculture & industry. one thing for sure, thigs go sour, they just can't pick up these assets & take them home.reply - Crazy Bill 2010/03/05 22:57:00
China does own us due to a series of bad presidents on both sides. The only war we can win with China would be to nuke them and that would turn ugly in a heartbeat.reply - Capital... Crazy Bill 2010/03/06 00:03:43

If only we could sell something to China that we have that they want and that will forgive our debt. What about all of the scrap metal from all of the cars turned in from the cash for clunkers program? The government could buy it and then sell it to China and India for a higher price. Those two countries have a huge demand for scrap metal to develop their nations.reply - Colbert Moonshi... 2010/03/05 09:39:39

Our national debt is over $13,000,000,000,000.00 (thats trillion). If we sold our scrap metal for $10.00 a pound, we would need 1,300,000,000,000 pounds of scrap metal. If every car produced 2.5 tons (5,000 pounds) or scrap metal, we would need 260,000,000 cars...Close to one car per person in the U.S.reply - Moonshi... ItsAlwa... 2010/03/09 22:40:29
