Cops Lift 6-Year-Old Girl By Her Hair: Should the U.S. step in?

Gosh! What is wrong with these cops? The darn girl is 6! She doesn't know any better than that!

We would have 20 kinds of anger if another country told us how to run our local police forces.

Set a good example, and comment privately. Do not insult the worlds largest democracy.

They already resolved it, and the police who did it were fired. There is no reason for the US to do anything.

We can't afford to be the world's police but new coverage alone will have a profound effect on what happened there. Remember the cutting off of a thiefs' hand thing? Let them progress. The whole world is watching anyway.

The US is not the worlds police men. Let India resolve their own ethics and own morality. But food for thought...do we want people who allow this kind of behavior from police officers to also be 'ethically" handling much of the worlds banking technology??

Doing that is simply pathetic and cruel, lifting a girl by her hair and beating up an ACCUSED thief, who could, by all means, be innocent.

I do not think the USA should step in, what could we do? Make more enemies? I think it would be most inappropriate for us to act as the world's leaders. The officers who participated should be strongly repremanded and perhaps loose their jobs. We have enough on our hands with Iraq, Iran, Afganistan with out buying more trouble. If anything we could remind India as a growing nation, that most people find that type of behavior completely inappropriate

I whole heartedly agree. It is none of the US business to step in on this situation UNLESS the child was a US citizen at the time. If the people of India have the know how to run much of the worlds technology, banking and credit card call centers, then they should also be capable of speaking out and stopping the police from treating a child this way regardless of what she did. Should we be trusting our money, banking and technology centers to a group of people that do not speak out against their own police treating their own children with this kind of brutality??? In the US you would be reprimanded for treating a dog this way let alone a child..........but yet we trust them with our finances??? Bring US jobs back to US people and ethics.

If she were an American, we should step in, especially since she is a minor, but the Indian police disciplined the officers involved. The U.S. cannot police the world.

We can't go play savior to every country. We have enough problems in America that our government won't take care of. What about police brutality here? African-Americans get shot by police all the time because "they had guns".

I don't think it's the US's business to get into India's law enforcement. They have their ways of running the laws and we have our's, but I really hope that no one would pull a young girl like her by her hair, even if she stole $6, not $600.
