The 22nd amendment limits a presidents time in office at 2 terms yet some paranoid people worry that Barack Obama may try and repeal it. Of course to repeal the 22nd amendment 2/3 of the state legislatures have to ratify it. Chances are great the the 22nd amendment will never be repealed and have become even greater after the Obama Administration stated that Barack Obama was in support of it. Do you think Barack Obama is lying and will secretly fight to repeal the 22nd amendment?

Oh, this is another lunatic fringe conspiracy theory. It would require another constitutional amendment to repeal the 22nd and, besides, even if it was repealed by another amendment the new one wouldn't apply to Barack Obama.

The lunatic fringe should seek new employment; your prediction business is failing miserably.

I'm a conservative, the real thing, and I have no use for the lunatic fringe on the right. You've given conservatism a bad name. Even Ann Coulter thinks you're crazy.

To change the Constitution Obama would have convince about 37 states to ratify a change to the Constitution. Ain't gonna happen.

Heck,Obama can't even get a "Health Care" bill through the Congress before the August Recess and people think he's gonna change the Constitution?

"Yes we can!" doesn't mean "Yes we shall!"

Well I guess when you say you support the 22nd amendment that means you won't be changing it. So what makes it appear that Obama wants to repeal it? Because a question asked by someone, hypothetically, that's suppose to mean he wants to repeal it? I smell corporate media.

I didn't vote for President Obama because I don't like his economic policies; however, the level to which the lunatic fringe of the extreme right has sunk is disgusting.

With as many people that disagree with what he is doing, and with communication devices that get info around quickly, I sincerely doubt that this will happen. Anyone foolish enough to support this in Congress will get an earful when they return to talk with constituents. If they, the few, are able to somehow get this through and signed by Obama (some amendments have been signed by POTUS), then the state legislatures have to tackle it. By no means is there a super-majority(2/3) in Congress willing to kill their political careers over this and by no means are there 3/4 of the STATEs willing to ratify it. This was also attempted (and failed) during the second Bush term. Anyone disagree with this analysis? Thanks for reading.

In fact, I'm 100% certain he won't. Do you know what the President's function is in amending the Constitution? I'll give you a hint: It's exactly the same as yours. None. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Congress and state legislatures are the only people who can amend the Constitution. So those who fear Obama will do this to them are (a) paranoid and (b) ignorant. Gee, what a STUPID question!

Was a very ill advised amendment to the Constitution which was passed by the Republican controlled Congress which came to power in the elections of 1946. They were angry over being out of power since 1932 when FDR won the White House from George W. Hoover, oops I mean Herbert Hoover. The Republifags cried their eyes out wanting the 22nd Amendment repealed while Reagan was president. But since it is now in place leave it alone. Just think if George W. could have run in 2008 he very well could have stolen another election. It gives me cold chills to think of W. still being in office. We would all end up starving to death.

If I may be so bold as to respond to this in your place Joel...

I may not have starved but I could not afford the healthier foods, nor the gas to go get the food. Since I had to work extra hours to compensate for my cut in pay, I did not have the TIME to cook what food I had. I got sick off the fast food I ate and had to go to my Doctor but had to still deal with an extended illness because I could not afford my medicine...

    Take it from here Joel...

Since Fannie and Freddie had nothing to do with causing the subprime mortgage collapse, all I can say is, so what?

The Bush admin and Republicans were warned dozens and dozens of times, as early as 2001 about the mortgage-backed securities caused subprime scandal and they blocked every Dem and citizen effort to stop or at least control it.
