Mitt Romney: After going to both Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School simultaneously, he passed the Michigan bar, but never worked as an attorney.

As a venture-capitalist, Romney's first major business deal involved investing in a start-up office supply company with one store in Massachusetts that sold office supplies. That company, called Staples, now has over 2,000 stores and employs ...over 90,000people.

Romney or his company Bain Capital (using what became known as the "Bain Way") would go on to perform the same kinds of business miracles again and again, with companies like Domino's, Sealy, Brookstone, Weather Channel, Burger King, Warner Music Group, Dollarama,Home Depot Supply, and many others.

Got your calculators handy? Let's recap:

Volunteer campaign worker for his dad's gubernatorial campaign 1 year.

Unpaid intern in Governor's office 8 years.

Mormon missionary in Paris 2 years.

Unpaid bishop and state president for his church 10 years.

No salary as president of the Olympics 3 years.

No salary as MA governor 4 years.
That's a grand total of 28 years of unpaid service to his country, his community and his church. Why? Because that's the kind of man Mitt Romney is! And in 2011 Mitt Romney gave over $4 million to charity, almost 19% of his i...

That's a grand total of 28 years of unpaid service to his country, his community and his church. Why? Because that's the kind of man Mitt Romney is! And in 2011 Mitt Romney gave over $4 million to charity, almost 19% of his income....Obama gave 1%, Joe Biden gave $300 or .0013% This is real character vs....well you know what!

Romney may not be the best representative the Republicans could have selected. At least I know what religion he is, and that he won't desecrate the flag, bow down to foreign powers, or squander my money on vacations. I know he has the ability to turn this financial debacle that the "Spending President" has gotten us into. We didn't know that when Obama said he'd give us change, he meant nickels and dimes, and he would get the big bucks.

We won't like all the things necessary to recover from this debt, but someone with Romney's background can do it.

But, on the minus side, He never was a "Community Organizer", never took drugs or smoked pot. Never got drunk. Did not associate with communists or terrorists. Nor did he attend a church whose pastor called for God to damn the US.

He's not Obama!! He will be more responsible with how our tax dollars are spent. I think he is very savvy in the business world while not having an itchy trigger finger like Bush Jr.

Dunno.... But here's what I see.

    NO Social Security
    NO medicare or medicaid
    MORE job outsourceing with Romney

He would probably sell America to the highest bidder.

Romney actually supports the Paul Ryan budget which actually, unlike what is posted in the biased lying media, increases medicare and medicaid expenditures by 5.2% annually.
Where has Romney stated he wants to end Social Security?
What company was outsourced while Romney was head of Bain Capital?
Do you deal in facts or just trust in the hyperbole?

Since this is about the Good, here is what I see:

    - Proven record in both business and government
    - Very intelligent
    - Really cares about America
    - Wants to unite people
    - Wants to repeal ObamaCare
    - Anti-Abortion (at least for now)
    - Wants to empower the States: (read Education and Immigration reform)
    - Regulation reduction or simplification (read Tax, Energy and Trade)

There are a list of negatives, but this is not the place for that.

*Only thing he's "proven" in business is he can make a boatload of money off of other people's backs. His "proven record in government is debatable because Mass didn't fare so well except in health care which is running away from as fast as he can.

*I don't believe a President graduating cum laude from Harvard is exactly wearing a dunce's cap either.

*Cares more about grovelling to the Right and getting the job than he has ever shown for love of his country.

GW wanted to "unite America" too, but that didn't work out so well for him either. Unless of course you begin wars where there shouldn't be any....that gets us all together.

*Will "repealing ObamaCare mean RomneyCare needs to go down the tubes too? Better.

    *Big deal,"anti-abortion", or now "anti-choice". Major flip-flop.

*States have been too empowered already when it comes to education. Thus, crumbling schools, state cuts in aid, technical ed, re-tooling for our citizens in this new century.

*We can't take anymore deregulation. That's what began this road to financial hell to begin with.

I am just giving what I see as positives for the potential president-elect.

-His "proven track record" is an matter of ideological interpretation.
-I'm talking about positives of Romney, not Obie.
-Groveling to the constituency is kinda what campaigns are about.
-Again, talking about Romney here not GW. Different times.... different circumstances.
-Dunno about RomneyCare, as i don't live in MA. If they want it they can have it
-I have a better chance with someone who "says they are pro-Life" than someone who is a proud pro-Abortion advocate.
-The Feds still mandate standards to the States and have a lot of control over them (hence, the Department of Educatgion).
-Another basic ideological difference we will never agree on:-(

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to explain.

For starters, someone who has done something with his life. Maybe you like what he's done. Maybe you don't. But an accomplished functional adult as POTUS would be a change.

The last two morons to occupy the office were put there because they had done nothing with their lifes and hence were not suspectible to criticism. Complete empty suits.

On the other hand, obama seems like a nice guy. Yeah that's what we need.

Romney will have a massive stimulus to create private market jobs. But instead of using tax payer money, he will use investor money.

He will delete Obama’s big government regulations to entice investors to invest in America. Every business group in America is fighting that big government Liberal.

that's not a 'stimulus.' that's the private sector investing.

stimulus is what gov't does to try and 'prime the economy's pump' or 'kickstart the economy,' which we've seen over nearly four years, hasn't worked

Yes, Obama's stimulus was another welfare program. It was designed to buy votes from unions and to support altenate energy which failed in every respects.

Romney is an investor and he clearly understands how Obama’s big government regulations kill jobs.

"What do concerns about regulations and policies mean for small businesses? Stalled growth. 80% of small businesses surveyed report the taxation, regulation, and legislation from Washington make it harder for their business to hire more employees. Nearly three-out-of-four (73%) of small businesses surveyed cite the recent health care law as an obstacle to growing their business and hiring more employees.”

Every business group in America is fighting Obama. Harry Alford said it best.

“Harry Alford, president and CEO of the National Black Chamber of Commerce, blasted President Obama’s anti-business administration in an explosive interview. Alford, a 2008 Obama supporter, labeled the administration “Marxist” and “fanatical.” “They might as well put on the brown shirts and swastikas,” he said.”

I see in Romney, everything that bama isn't. I see a man whose dad made the American dream and raised his kids with morals.
If bama has a plan, why hasn't it worked? He, during his campaign, blasted Bush for only having a 200K jump in employment, then he turns around this month and brags about his 80K jump and how we are on the right track.
The man doesn't know which mouth he's talking out of.

Hmmm, you must have missed the memo on Mr. Romney's employment and business record. Sure he did well, made himself a vast fortune....off the backs of the factories and businesses he and his group of investors went in and carved up, shipping off jobs, took the profitable parts and bankrupted the rest. All making him a huge profit. He never made any economy better in the communitiers he raided, or more viable but he made himself extremely wealthy. Hardly a good recipe for the rest of us, ya think?
