(Pardon the image, its the only one I can find that didn't stereotype or suck.)

I've grown to kind of dislike Politics and probably even more these days because even the civilian voters have stoop so low to mudslinging and manipulation. These days.

I've seen the worst of the Liberals and they all seem to try to act like they are all innocent, loving and truthful. If they looks at themselves and look up Liberal in the dictionary. Would they see a contradiction or are they clouded by their own ego?

Liberals actually demonize more... Some may give you the "we've been fighting speech".

The truth is: Some Liberals are more Conservative than they think. Like if they grew up in a Liberal family, that would actually be a tradition and you're preserving it. That's Conservatism.(Whats your Conservatism?)

I grew up in a house with politically Conservative parents but they are not the typical portrait that the media paints of what they think Conservatives are. I'm not just saying that because they are my parents. Though part of the reason why I dislike the both sides is left and right, is the arguments I heard as a kid when I was around my relatives and the crap during elections.

Don't know why but all of the negative focus that that Liberals emphasize on Conservatives has made me see the negatives of the Liberals. I have Liberal friends and I love them like my brothers and sisters. I see a lot more Liberal news and propaganda than Conservative news. I do notice a lot of things Conservatives say are misunderstood, when there is conservative stuff people are complaining and trying to say "All Conservatives are this way" or "The GOP is trying to make people starve to death"(If people really knew the truth about Social Security and Disability. You won't be saying that).

Just a thought, I feel like a lot of people are understood. I also found, sometimes for things to have progress, you have to go back a few steps. I don't try not to clings to the political parties these days, I'm actually worried who'd might end up in the office this election, because no one seems to be worthy.

i think were very clear on what we believe. small govt. spending under control . balanced budget, constitution and the declaration of independence, individual freedom. private sector creating jobs and the govt getting out of the way to let them do that. less govt. control. no more nanny state.

I didn't necessarily mean that, I've seen a lot of things that Conservatives had said totally misunderstood and I'm not talking about objectives. The breast feed vote recap is a example on this sight. They outright exaggerated, saying Conservatives love to infringe on people's rights. Which is a absolutely wrong.

No one is innocent of bad political behavior. I do wish we could go back to the days when we could argue our points without ugliness. The days when you were respected for your point of view even if it was not the same as others. I also like the days when the President was respected even if he was not your choice as president. The lack of respect we show each other is transmitting to our children. I fear for our country because of the anger that is here. We are looking to relocate our family to an "in the wilderness" place or even another country because we fear for our children and grand children. We fear open warfare in the streets. What happened to the days when we worked together as Americans and were proud of the fact that we were AMERICANS.? Now when I am in another country and they say " you don't act like an American" I am sad that we don't represent a good thing to the rest of the world but proud of the fact that I don't have the poor behavior they are expecting.

Action speaks louder than words. If you observe the legislative actions undertaken by state legislatures where conservatives are in the majority, you'll see the true nature of conservative politicos... The demons are real.

Actions can be misinterpreted too. Look closer to who Obama gave the bailout to and he gave a lot of it to his friends, not average civilians.

The bailout was initiated by the Bush administration, in place when Obama took office, and was never intended for average citizens... You really you know this by now.

There were things that could of used it. I mean the government itself is having issues trying to keep up with Social Security. Lets say, when you're physically disabled, they hope you die first and it doesn't matter who's in office its always been difficult.

I think EVERYBODY is misunderstood. Liberals are misunderstood and so are Conservatives. I think that is because most people fluctuate depending on issues. And people want to lump everyone into a box. Most people are conservative on some issues and liberal on others. It depends. We can't judge people or put a label on them just because they believe passionately about one issue. I think this question needed another comment box. Based on the definition it would seem that liberals are more misunderstood. But, you can decide....
Here are the definitions from the dictionary on my computer:
    Conservative- adjective
The conservative wing of the party: right-wing, reactionary, traditionalist; Republican; Brit. Tory; informal redneck. ANTONYMS socialist.

    Liberal- adjective
The values of a liberal society: tolerant, unprejudiced, unbigoted, broad-minded, open-minded, enlightened; permissive, free, free and easy, easygoing, libertarian, indulgent, lenient. ANTONYMS narrow-minded, bigoted.
Based on the definition it would seem that liberals are more misunderstood.

All I see is lack of tolerance with you all. Internet dictionary is not politically correct.

You are entitled to see whatever you want to see. It was not an internet dictionary but the dictionary attached to my computer. The same one that is used in all computers throughout school systems. ( It is a school computer and a dictionary is included as part of the applications files.) THAT has always been the definition. It is only recently that people on the right have redefined the word liberal to mean something it doesn't really mean. So that is why I think liberals are more misunderstood. That being said, I consider myself neither....just an educated thinker who votes by the issues I see important. But, since I AM a free thinker and don't pass judgement on others, you can see it any way you please. It's a free country.

They can be but I speak from experience and John Wayne spoke the truth I already know. But I failed at explaining it. Just to say, every version of the dictionaries actually becomes even less accurate every year or so. I've actually seen stuff remove that was actually right. Preservation is a good thing.

There was a definition of Liberal that was tampered with. It stated a Liberal is "open minded".... But there is a lack of that.

That's how I feel about many conservatives on SH. Calling me names when I have bent over backwards as a teacher to be fair for every group of people and never taking sides. I loved John Way by the way. But he died in 1979 and there were some wacko groups back then!! I actually protested in the early 70's in San Francisco with a group of Native Americans who wanted Alcatraz back. I was always working for the under dog no matter who they were. Now, as a grandma, I think I have mellowed out a lot and just want equality for all.

They still exist but have no life and creep around the internet.. LOL, although there is the ones who ran for office during my lifespan that have had some crazies on their campaign.

Yeah people can be harsh on both sides of the political circle. I've heard Conservatives take things a bit far with certain things. Like the Barack "Osama" whatever it is some say, totally over doing. I have more respect for the President than that, I bet the people wouldn't have guts to say it to his face. He's still a person.

I've nearly argued with Conservatives before, they are not as quick to call people names. My answer for the reason why Conservatives have been stereotyped as stupid is because all the intelligent ones no better than to argue.

True but I get this hard tense vibe from come Liberals... All I see, Liberal, Liberal, everywhere so I've gotten to know the mentality of most Liberal voters. Some are psychotic (which may end up with their comments deleted). Some need to loosen up and calm down. Some need to learn that their intolerance is showing. Also I've seen people call Conservatives stupid, well I've ran into some Liberals that (don't mean to stereotype but..) fit the trailer park trash stereotype.

Again everything you mentioned can be said about Conservatives. It's the extremist on both sides that seem to get all the attention.

I know that I am not as young as I use to be, but all of the tools are still sharp in the shed. I know when someone is not in my corner, or wants the best for me, and further more, I have sense enough to know that if someone is trying to take what little income I have and just leave me hanging high and dry, I think that I understand very well that the Conservatives could give a fat rat's A_ _ about my well being. Or to block everything that might give our economy a chance to thrive, and people to get back into the work force, to not want these things to exist sends a very loud message that those who are less privileged really don't matter. The Conservatives are not misunderstood, but understood better than they might think.
