Conservatives Express Delight With Ryan Selection

Mitt Romney’s selection of Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate drew widespread approval along the Republican and conservative spectrum on Saturday.

Romney was roundly applauded for picking the Wisconsin congressman, whose reputation as a reformer and as an intellectual won high marks among those who weighed in.

Newt Gingrich called the move "largest step the GOP has taken towards solving the country's problems since Reagan and Kemp," referring to the former president and vice-presidential candidate.

Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, who was being considered for the slot himself, said Romney picking Ryan “is a truly inspired choice,” calling Ryan “a courageous reformer who understands our nation’s challenges, has proposed bold policy solutions to solve them, and has shown the courage to stand up to President Obama and other Washington politicians trying to tear him down.”

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky said Ryan “is an excellent choice, and a confirmation that Gov. Romney is serious about strengthening America's economic future, tackling the deficits and debt that have skyrocketed under President Obama, and returning to a path to solvency and security.”

American Conservative Union Chairman Al Cardenas said Romney “hit a home run” with the selection of Ryan, saying it “unifies conservatives, defines our message of bringing fiscal sanity back to our government, and brings a youthful enthusiasm to the ticket as we embark on an important debate of ideas which will define America for generations to come.

Gov. Scott Walker of Ryan's homestate of Wisconsin called the pick a “bold and reform-minded selection.”

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee described Ryan as "a boost" for Romney's campaign. "Ryan is a bold choice but not a ridiculously bold choice," he said. "There is no such thing as a perfect pick but he is a very substantive pick."
R. Clarke Cooper, executive director of Log Cabin Republicans, called Ryan a “strong choice.” He said, “nobody is more qualified to articulate a conservative economic vision to restore the American economy and stimulate job creation.”

Chris Chocola, president of Club for Growth, said, “No one understands the dire consequences we face by continuing to ignore our spending problem better than Congressman Ryan, and no one can do a better job of articulating a vision of how to fix it.”

Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin said Ryan “is going to be a great vice president." “Nobody understands the federal budget better than Paul, or has worked harder to develop and offer real solutions to the fiscal challenges facing America,” he said.

As usual, the conservative crowd is showing their absolute ignorance if they are truly supporting Ryan. This hasn't changed the fact that Romney is a mobster, a liar, a fraud, an outright criminal.
Anyone that looks at Ryan's voting record and realizes that he is a Bush baby would be disgusted by this choice. Ryan voted not to remove the indefinite detention from the NDAA, voted for the Patriot Act. Need I say more?

I was waiting to see if I was going to stay and vote for Romney or just call it quits and escape to Grenada. Now I'll stay.

“Ryan just changed the “ABO” election into an election that we Conservatives who don't normally vote GOP presidential nominees into an election of sound Conservative principles and policies.

In all honesty, I didn't think that Governor Romney would make such a bold choice, but he has proven to me that he thinks more of our Republic than himself, and made a decision that we should expect from a President. I look at it as Romney's first real executive decision in his campaign, and it was a good one.

The left wing lib's have blown their wad, and have lost all credibility with the American people by releasing Ads that have been debunked hours after they air. They have run out of money, and ideas, and keep regurgitating the same old “granny over the cliff” theme that both Congressman Ryan and Governor Romney have already began to rip apart by telling the truth.

I'm not going to say Ryan is a game changer, because despite the (liberal skewed) POLLS, I think we all knew of the level of intensity to remove the worst president in history from that position. Ryan just raised that intensity, and gave us a more substantial reason to remove Obama.

Eight years of Romney and Ryan, followed by another eight years of Ryan and his Conservative pic, and the democrat party and all of the destruction they have caused to our Republic will be a painful but distant memory..

I think it was a big mistake that will cost him the election. We'll be lucky if this country ever recovers from Obama's next term. I'm blaming Romney for the damage Obama does in the next four years. He should have been a man and chose his own running mate instead of coddling to the far right.

I guess you'd have been happy if he'd chosen someone more to the Marxist messiah's liking?

No, I was hoping for someone like Jindal. Not someone forced on him by the powers that be . It wasn't the choice, it was the fact he couldn't make his own decision that bothers me. Republicans were gonna vote for him anyway despite the fact he wasn't really their first choice. He needed moderate and independent votes to win. He just lost most of them this morning. Say hello to four more years of Obama. I shudder to think how bad this is gonna end up.

I disagree! He needed the strength Ryan brings to the ticket! Ryan will make mincemeat of anyone he debates, and hold American values high! These two are not going to be 4 more years of Odimwit! They will be just the opposite!

You disagree that he lost many of the moderate or independent voters he needed to win? I can tell you he lost this one because he proved he couldn't make a decision on his own. Someone else is already pulling his strings. Maybe he decided he didn't want to be president. Besides, Republicans have already stated they don't want moderates like me in their party and figure they can do it on their own. Well, here's your chance. Good luck.

"Moderates" are useless. In 1776, about a third of the population favored rebellion, about a third favored the Brits, and about a third were "moderates" (they didn't have a clue which way the F*@k to go!). Moral: We're not waiting for you this time. Get off your @$$es one way or the other or get run over with the 0v0mites!

Jindal is just as ineligible as 0v0mit and Rubio: They are NOT natural-born citizens despite the fact that they may have been born here. How bad is this gonna end up? If the American electorate is stupid enough to re-elect this fraud, there WILL be an insurrection. Put money on it.

Yeah, sure it is. You do realize every word you say shrinks your tent a little smaller. It won't be long before the Republican Party ceases to exist at this rate. If only we could rid this country of the Democratic Party too things might actually start to get better.

Oh, CHIT! I'm soooo sca-wed. I really give a flying F*@K about shrinking my tent. My attitude has always been that if I know I'm right, F*@K you and what you think or feel. If you don't yet know right from wrong, by all means vote for the Marxist monkey and enjoy your dhimmitude. At this point, I couldn't care less!
