Conservative Finally Admits That, Yes, The GOP Is Rooting Against Economic Recovery

Since the night of President Obama’s inauguration, there’s been a concerted effort by the GOP to stall or reverse any economic recovery. They have blocked every jobs bill, refused any increase in revenue and invented non-scandal after non-scandal for the sole purpose of making the president a one-termer. We here at Addictinginfo have been ringing the alarm about this since we first went online in late 2010 and liberal commentators did so before we even existed. But we knew better and we’ve been waiting for the rest of the media and the Democratic Party to catch up. Slowly but surely, they have. The question is out there now: Is the GOP deliberately stalling the recovery and are they rooting for America to fail? The answer is an unequivocal, “YES!” and even some conservatives are hinting that it’s the undeniable truth. Rob Gray, a former a senior adviser to Mitt Romney during his 2003 campaign and current media strategist had this to say in an interview:

“I am buying that they’re rooting against the economy somewhat because they think that, you know, the short-term pain of, you know, the next four months is much better than having additional four years of pain under Obama. they believe that government should spend less and that they have better economic ideas then the president does. So, you know, if we have to suffer between now and November to get a better president for four years, they’re all for it.“

Well, that’s nice. Except it hasn’t been just four months, it’s been almost four years and their “rooting” has caused untold millions of Americans to suffer. Why? So the GOP has a better shot at the White House. Never mind that actual people are losing their homes, their jobs, their health and their lives; that’s not important. The little people never are. Party before country or, as Mitch McConnell said and absolutely meant, “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”
