In the Sermon on the plain in the Gospel of Luke, Jesus says:
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you
Conservative Christians: I support the war, they attacked us!!
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
Conservative Christian: Atheist put up billboards.....TAKE EM DOWN!!!
Conservative Christian: Muslims start a T.V show..... TAKE IT DOWN!!!
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
Conserative Christian: What are we supposed to just let them run all over us!!!!
Conservative Christian: Gays are pushing an agenda, Muslims are pushing an agenda, I am a Christian and I stand for values!!!
30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
Christian Conservative: WELFARE!!! I am not giving my money to some HOMELESS FOOL WHO CAN'T WORK!!!
Christian Conservative: The government takes my money and gives it to people who don't deserve it!!!!
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
Conservative Christian: I'm married have two kids.....I'll be damned if I see two queers get the right to get married like me and my wife!!

+3I used to be a conservative, but I am not anymore. I am back to being a centrist. I saw so many problems with conservatism. My only label is Christian, because Jesus is my God as my screen name says.
Oh and to answer the follow-up question: yeah that doesn't sound very Christian at all.
31 can't be anymore wrong. I support marriage equality (I'm Bi) and I can't see how you stretched that verse so much in your mind.
Seriously, I'm libertarian, but it isn't hard to explain how a Christian and a conservative can be the same person. You confuse conservative with Republican. Conservative, not the modern twist the republicans have claimed, means to protect the rights of individuals. It has more in common with classical liberalism. Modern Libertarians have more of a claim to conservatism than do republicans.
And they hated the Lord and killed him..............hmmmm

That would be like me calling my self a Buddhist, then going around killing bugs and kicking dogs. Would you consider me a good Buddhist or someone who pretends to be one?
If I were to be 25,prosthelytizing about Christianity, how amazing it is and my life story. You would call me wise beyond my years, a studious young man with a good head on his shoulder.
However since I disagree with you, I am just young, implying that without some great wisdom that you seem to know of, that I am ignorant of my own believes.
I find this insulting to say the least. Me being young has nothing do to with it.

So you are 57 and have nothing else to learn? Have you forgotten that the more you know the more you find that you don't?
I never said you had nothing to offer about life, about love, about compassion, friends, stories and 57 years of a long and pleasant sometimes disrupted life. Never once did I say this nor did I even imply it.
This post was on a particular topic. Religion. Something that I know a lot about. Something that I will continue to learn about, from personal experience all the way down to straight hard study.
You have posted on my wall, as well as on this post about how wise you are, and how you have so much to offer. I am here on this sight to hear what people think, to debate, to expound my lust for knowledge as well as find out if my assumption, hypothesis and ideas hold up to scrutiny.
If you have something to discuss that is relevant to my post, to share your wisdom, then I am reading and am interested in what you have to say......
