Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman threatened Monday afternoon that he would file articles of impeachment against President Barack Obama if he institutes gun control measures with an executive order.

Stockman warned that such executive orders would be “unconstitutional” and “infringe on our constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms.” (RELATED: Levin: If Obama sidesteps Congress on debt ceiling, ‘no choice’ but impeachment)

“I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment,” Stockman said in a statement.

If Obama continues to use executive action to pass his major agendas then we have a tyrant to deal with and he should be immediately impeached. America is a country of laws based upon our constitution, not the opinions of one individual.

Ill admit hes being a little extreme here if hes gonna do this. But didnt reagan use an executive order to ban the shipments of assault rifles here? I read that he did.

No. Reagan never used an executive order to enforce gun laws. However, he did sign a bill that was passed by congress limiting the shipments of semi-automatic weapons imported to the United States. After the breakup of the Soviet Union, there was an overflow of AK-47's (all with their receivers changed from full-auto to semi-auto) that were being sent to the US from all the Soviet satellite countries that were mostly junk. Congress passed a bill limiting the imports of such weapons and, as a respectable gun owner, I'm glad they did.

Not that it would matter... He'd never be convicted in the Senate, and if he were we would end up with Biden as president for a consolation prize. I always thought there was an underlying reason Biden was selected as VP. Sort of an insurance policy since if Obama were removed....

At least there is one Member of Congress who is holding to his Oath..

Now add to the charge that the current occupant of our White House is ILLEGALLY usurping our 2nd Amendment Right, I will be more than happy volunteer as arresting Officer just so I can tighten the cuffs on his scrawny wrists so tight his eyes will bug out of his sockets.
