Please Rave so this can be a featured blog. I want to see if this congressman is correct, or if we still have the majority that believes in the constitution. Thank you for your help!

P.S. I didn't realize that I put "are" instead of "our" until after I published it and then sodahead wouldn't let me make the correction. I think this is much more important than correcting me on my spelling and grammar. But, if you insist on belittling me instead of concentrating on the issue presented in this post, then you have more serious problems then my spelling and grammar issues.

It is a shame that this person is still in Congress. Clearly they are in violation of their oath of office.

I wish it clarified natural born citizen better, and translated in modern language so it is easier to understand.

I admit that the Constitution does not spell out the term "natural born". But that then means the use of the term as understood by the founders is of significant import. It seems rather clear to me. That a natural born citizen is one born of two US citizens.

Why the make up of the courts are so important. The Presidents with this power have power in the country long after they leave office.

More rights for us the LGBT peopl,us Hispanics/Latinos,and more benefits for the poor:)

    DuncanONeil
With all the rights in the Constitution why do LGBTers need more than that? Same question for "Hispanics/Latinos"?
There is no place in the Constitution for any clause assigning "benefits". But since you bring it up why do you think the "poor" NEED MORE benefits? Just what benefits do you think need to be added?
Value of existing benefits are enough to place the "poor" in the middle class. "Poor" in the US are not the destitute rabble they are painted to be.

Ok 1st of all,it is legal in 43 states to fire someone for simpley being gay, lesbian, and transsexual.Aslo, there are states that prohibit gay marriage and adoption.Anotherthing,in some states there is no protection for LGBT people against hate crimes and discrimination. Also, here in Tucson,AZ where i live and in other parts of the country, there making it illegal for hispanics/latinos to speak spanish in schools or in the jobs. That's a form of discrimination there based on race, ethnicity and culture. As for the poor, they're making it harder for them pay for collages or even get a grant. I think that as long as a person i willing to work hard and are trying to get a head in life, they shouln't be denied to have acces for further education:)

"Ok 1st of all,it is legal in 43 states to fire someone for simpley being gay, lesbian, and transsexual." That is a hard statement to swallow. First for it to be "legal" for that to be a reason for firing it would have to be actually written in the law.

"Hate crimes" are dumb addendum's in the law.

"making it illegal for hispanics/latinos to speak spanish in schools or in the jobs." Could you provide me with a citation for the law of which you are speaking, I'd like to check it out.

"As for the poor, they're making it harder for them pay for collages or even get a grant." This is based on an assumption that EVERYONE must go to college. It seems to me that the schools are the ones making it harder by constantly raising the price.

I know two easy ways to get a college education at minimal cost. The National Guard & active duty. Just requires some sacrifice.

Only problem here is that there are so many laws to look through, it is easier presuming that you already know some of the laws to ask for either the names or numbers of the laws in question.
  • valeria... DuncanO... 2012/07/19 02:57:07
    valeria la potra
I agree on that:)There are so many laws, and are changing constanly, that you don't know where to turn your head at.
  • DuncanO... valeria... 2012/07/19 03:27:19
    DuncanONeil
Sorry, but this kind of seems like you have no exposure to the laws that you are claiming to present a specific legal position.

Uhh! noo! I've research on the laws before.I go to school at Job Corps and i've been discriminated in the past in the work force, for being transsexual. So,the last thing i want is to be treated like an idiot, and be taken advantage for being transgender.Spanish is my first language, but that doesn't mean i can't stand up for myself,or that i'm stupid!!OK!I know my rights, and i know where to go if i ever want to filed a law sued.I just want to be an advocate for others, and one day be a TV talk show host for a spanish station called Telemundo or Univision:)
  • DuncanO... valeria... 2012/07/19 13:54:20
    DuncanONeil
So, as I asked, you should be able to identify at least one law that does what you claim. Discrimination & legal discrimination are too completely different issues. The first is next to impossible to terminate, the second is ensconced in the written word.

For instance california is the state with the most right for the LGBT community, follow by New York,Illinoise,Oregon,Washington State,Iowa,NJ,Massetchusettss... all the N.E side and the D.C if someone fired me for being Transsexual,Gay,Lasbian or Bi i can sue for that spicific thing. On the otherhand the rest of the state i llegal to fired anyone within the LGBT community from a job or any other type of discrimination.Let alone that there are no federal law to protect the LGBT.Now the good news for us transsexuals is that there is a federal law,but for transsexuals only in the LGBT community.I'm protected under sex,it's a federal law.Meaning that if i'm in the other states where there are no protection for us i could sue under sex.Legaly speaking,i'm a Female. So we are improving alot:)
  • DuncanO... valeria... 2012/07/20 02:04:19
    DuncanONeil
"Let alone that there are no federal law to protect the LGBT." Perhaps because the existing laws are deemed to cover them.

But as the the question I find myself asking time after time, you have no idea as to any laws on the books anywhere allowing legals firings as stated in your post I first responded to.

I'm not excited. The questions are not an issue of politics, but law. Making a claim that it IS legal to do something implies there is a law supporting said claim. That is what I asked assistance with.
