I think Grayson is trying to make a point through ridicule. His methods may be insulting, and even worse. But there is a message there.
The fact is that We as Americans need to do something about health care in this country.
1. Tort reform--the Attorneys are getting even richer suing Doctors for mistakes. Medicine is not Law. Doctors operate on people trying to save their lives. Many Attorneys operate on peoples pocketbooks, trying to empty them. Case in point: Do you see Doctors advertising on TV to sue drug makers?
2. Drug costs--I understand that drug makers must recover the cost of creating drugs--just as websites must recover the cost of developing their software. But drugs are for saving lives. There is a big difference. And this is the difference We as Americans must begin to realize.
3. Insurance costs--Insurance has been priced outside of the reach of many middle class Americans. There must be a solution to this problem. Is a public option the best solution? I do not know, but I have seen no other solutions offered by anyone--especially not the health insurance industry.
4. Emergency Room costs: Most hospitals that I know of are publicly owned. Yet, they charge as much if not more than private hospitals. Reform is necessary.
In conclusion, health issues recognize no political persuasion. For too long it has been a business rather than a necessity. Should we kick all the old people out of nursing homes because it is too expensive to provide them with medicare? Of course not. We just need to come together and figure out a method to pay for the care without bankrupting Our country and People.
Just my take on it.

Congressman Alan Grayson Backfires for Health Care

Congressman Alan Grayson (Democrat, Florida 8th District) recently gained a lot of attention as an advocate for government health care. The Democrats can do better to hold someone in the public light than Grayson.
His immature presentation on the floor of Congress with his poster cards won him lots of points on the Left. His cards read:
1) "Republican Care Plan: #1. Don't Get Sick"
2) "Republican Health Care Plan: #2. And If You Do Get Sick..."
3) "Republican Health Care Plan: #3. Die Quickly."
The Left has complained that the rhetoric on the Right exceeds civil discourse. We've heard that parotted a thousand times. Yet, Grayson takes the cake for lowering the bar of civil discourse. This immature stunt does nothing to help push the Democrats agenda forward -- attacking the Republicans who have no power doesn't build a bridge or stretch out a hand for reconciliation. It further incites and divides people.
Should we expect to hear the Left criticize Grayson for his tone and speech full of hate? Nope.
How about this other outrageous attack full of hate and vitriol Grayson leveled at Vice President Cheney:
You know you've crossed the line as a Democrat when Chris Matthews from Hardball tells you to calm down.
Any day now, expect Grayson to give up his public seat for a talk show. He'd make more money and we could actually laugh at his jokes instead of cringe that an elected official would talk like that -- about anyone, let alone the immediate past Vice President. I hope he uses the same vitriol for our enemies.
Please share any links, videos or text if you can find Grayson attacking Ahmedinejad, Usuma Bin Laden, Kim Jong-il or any of our enemies with such fervor as he attacks Americans.

Edit: Fans of Grayson support his childish behavior. Grayson posted this video no YouTube because he find great pride in insulting people. One fan, obviously who learned from Grayson, posted a profane reply:
(I removed the letters, not Grayson or YouTube)
Do we really want people like Grayson in office leading America and setting the tone for healthy discussions?

Well, my response is -- and by the way, I have trouble listening to what he says sometimes, because of the blood that drips from his teeth while he's talking. But my response is this: He's just angry because the president doesn't shoot old men in the face. But by the way, when he was done speaking, did he just then turn into a bat and fly away?
You know you've crossed the line as a Democrat when Chris Matthews from Hardball tells you to calm down.
Oh God -- we gotta keep a level here. Let me ask you this: Don't you have any Republican friends?

One can call out the opposition -- but do so maturely and on the issues, not attacking someone's personality.
President Obama wanted civil discourse -- Grayson violated that request.
Had this been in the early days of our nation, vaudevillians like Grayson wouldn't last two minutes with his plainly reprehensible conduct via bellicose and disparaging commentary on the House floor.
Recklessly impugning the honor of another with absolutely no evidence (and in public) would have been settled on the field of honor, something Grayson seems bereft of.
And 'men' like him would, no doubt, come to a bad end.
(In 1806, Charles Dickinson), "who had a reputation as the best shot in Tennessee, had made disparaging remarks about (Andrew) Jackson's beloved Rachel.
In the duel that followed, Dickinson fired first, and his bullet entered Jackson's chest just an inch above the heart. Jackson staggered as the blood began soaking through his clothes, but he managed to steady himself and took aim at Dickinson.
Dickinson ran from the line of fire, but he was ordered back to his place, a mere 24 ft. from Jackson, according to the code of honor.

Dickinson died a slow and painful death, and Jackson carried his bullet for the rest of his life; it had lodged too close to Jackson's heart to be removed."

That is despicable of him to to try to assign the spirit of the Democrat Plan to the Republicans. I really don't care for Republicans, because they tend to be somewhat aloof. But, crap like this is what pushed me right away from, and out of the Democrat Party.
Let that spry and chipper Granny have her hip replacement, and you take the aspirin the President said he wanted to give her instead!
I do think that some of the people being obstructionist just to slow the health bill needed to be called out. (I mean the people without real proposals who were just doing it to do it. Not the people with real reasons for dissenting opinions and real alternative suggestions), but he could have stopped there.
and they are the ones who are a disgrace.Grayson is
calling it like he sees it. calling a spade a spade.
People who compare Grayson to Joe Wilson should note the difference between reactionary response and planned disrespectful display. In one, there was an immediate apology and respectful discourse since then. In the other, continued hateful public displays.
In business, if a representative of a company behaves in a similar manner, they are dismissed. Our elected officials are representatives of those who elect them. If Grayson is re-elected, it would be a reflection on those in his district.
