This is honestly the most ridiculous thing I've ever read and the people commenting are even more ridiculous. Liberals understand their own opinions, and anybody who says otherwise is plain rude. The reason people understand liberal opinions is because liberals don't hide all the facts like conservatives tend to do. Fox News, anyone? Liberals aren't marxists and socialist and communists, and not all liberals are the same. I'm a realistic liberal who believes in taxing the rich and building a big middle class. I believe in socialised health care and schooling, and bigger government with smaller businesses. I detest Obama as a president because he is too right leaning to get any thing done efficiently. I am pro choice. I am pro human rights. I am a feminist. I am in favor of marijuana legalization. I am anti-capitalism. Seems like I know my views pretty well... did you assume I wouldn't?

So, I have a few questions to you.
What is your standing on the "global warming"? And if you believe in the existence of the men-made global warming, how is it related to being anti-capitalist? In other words, why do the anti-capitalists have to believe in the global warming?
Another question is this: what is your standing on people's right to own firearms? And if you are against it, how is it related to being anti-capitalist?

Re-read the question, it can be a bit confusing if you run through it too quickly, it doesn't say that libs don't understand their own opinions and positions, it says that when conservatives are asked to answer as if they were liberals, they are more accurate than if liberals are asked to answer as if they were conservatives. It would seem, that stasticially, according to this study, conservatives understand what it means to be liberal more than liberals understand what it is like to be conservative.

Off course Conservatives have the ideological advantage. Their beliefs are based on 6000 years of civil and moral understanding culminating in the establishment of the United States Constitution. Liberals on the other hand are self denying Socialists who are dependent on a strong and vital capitalist society for their privileges and ambitions and can only project their self loathing onto those who are productive in order to save face.

It's also possible that the study actually says something different than how it was characterized on Hot Air or on AEI blog.

Being familiar with Jonathan Haidt's work from his TED talk what he seems to be saying there is somewhat different than what has been stated in the blog posts. Although Haidt does seem to miss some conclusions from his own graphs at least as far as they relate to conservatives and liberals in North America, for instance about importance of fairness.
