Computer Model Shows Perfect Storm: Is Obama Battling Romney or Economy?

Every four years we hear the same refrain: "It's the economy, stupid!" James Carville coined the phrase when he served as a campaign strategist for Bill Clinton's successful 1992 presidential campaign against sitting president George H. W. Bush. Carville knew that Clinton could win if he focused on the bad economy instead of the candidate, George H.W. Bush.

President Obama won the 2008 presidential election against Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on several issues including the bad economy. Four years later, Obama faces a perfect storm of a stuttering economy: high gas prices, a volatile stock market, increased unemployment, and a crisis in the Eurozone.

George Washington University associate professor John Sides created a computer model that determined President Obama has two opponents in his 2012 re-election battle: Mitt Romney and the horrible economy. "It's not the only factor, but it's arguably the most important factor," said Professor Sides.

CNN reports:President Barack Obama is running against former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, but the economy may truly be his greatest opponent.

Obama's term has been like a SIDESHOW full of distractions designed to take our minds off the REAL PROBLEM ( the economy ) . He has his CARNEY ( really , his name is Carney ) trying to throw us off by diverting our attention , and hyping the latest " crisis of the day " .

    This November , Remember ------ SIDESHOW " O " - Has Got To Go !

    Mitt Romney

On Mitt Romney (information to pass on and share with others)

After going to both Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School simultaneously,
he passed the Michigan bar, but never worked as an attorney.

As a venture-capitalist, Romney’s first major business deal involved investing
in a start-up office supply company with one store in Massachusetts that sold office supplies. That company, called Staples, now has over 2,000 stores and employs...over 90,000 people.

Romney or his company Bain Capital (using what became known as the “Bain Way”) would go on to perform the same kinds of business miracles again and again, with companies like Domino’s, Sealy, Brookstone, Weather Channel, Burger King, Warner Music Group, Dollarama, Home Depot Supply, and many others.

Got your calculators handy? Let’s recap:

Volunteer campaign worker for his dad’s gubernatorial campaign for 1 year.

Unpaid intern in Governor’s office for 8 years.

Mormon missionary in Paris for 2 years.

Unpaid bishop and state president for his church for 10 years.

No salary as president of the Olympics for 3 years.

No salary as MA governor for 4 years.

That’s a grand total of 28 years of unpaid service to his country, his community and his church. Why? Because that’s the kind of man Mitt Romney is! And in 2011 Mitt Ro...

And in 2011 Mitt Romney gave over $4 million to charity, almost 19% of his income; Obama gave 1%; Joe Biden gave $300 or.0013%. This is real character vs. well you know what!

Romney may not be the best representative the Republicans could have selected.
At least we know what religion he is, and that he won’t desecrate the flag, bow down to foreign powers, or squander my money on vacations. I know he has the ability to turn this financial debacle that the “Tax-And-Spend President” has gotten us into.
We didn’t know that when Obama said he’d give us change, he meant nickels and dimes, and he would get the big bucks.

We won’t like all the things necessary to recover from this debt, but someone with Romney’s background can do it.

BUT, on the minus side, he never was a “Community Organizer”, never took drugs or smoked pot. Never got drunk. Did not associate with communists or terrorists.
Nor did he attend a church whose pastor called for God to damn the US…
There were many others that preceded Romney. Guys like Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Glenn H, Curtiss, Sears, J.C. Penney, William Kellogg, Wrigley, William Boeing, Donald Douglass and a whole army of hard working, creative innovators that built this great nation that we used to enjoy, before Obama. And, just like Romney, they didn't always succeed on the first try but they persevered and got the job done for the benefit of the country and all of us. And, just like Romney, if you succeed you get the rewards for your efforts. If you fail, you pick up the pieces and try again and again until you get it right. Now, we need to help Romney pick up the pieces and put our greatest nation on earth, back together again

I put Mitt Romney because I'm sure Romney is in the way of him becoming a king and a dictator. All of the other stuff [ economy, schools, food, jobs, Obamacare, etc, etc ] is being implemented and replaced now for the world he see's, so he can continue his agenda if he becomes president again. And I feel he is going to do everything he can to make that goal. The sad part about all of this, is there are people that still don't see this.

Well… with Obama we will have 4 more years of a bad economy with too much spending, debt, and lobbyists, and with romney we will have another war which will
rise the debt and get him kicked out of office next term and make a even bigger debt in the process. So… which are you going to choose.

Its a guessing game to be sure. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Romneys healthcare bill was one that the people could make a choice on or the states, not sure. Well, I do know this, I'm not voting for Obama. I'd rather take a chance on Romney and pray to God, the man understands what the people want and works toward that end. If he doesn't, then we're all up a creek without a paddle.

Battling the economy is JOB 1.

And that's what Obama has been tackling since Dubya left us his God-awful mess.

With Romney's lack of concern for the middle- and lower-classes, women, and the American worker, Obama doesn't have to battle Romney at all.

Romney's downfall will all be because of Romney, no one else.

Another idiot like Obama thinking Bush caused the 2008 banks to fail and cause the worst recession since the depression.

    REAL ECONOMY, REAL REASONS:

This is just a History lesson. I am posting it to all regardless of party . It is history and nothing can change it.

The day the Democrats took over was NOT January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007, the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress.

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

    BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!
THANK YOU DEMOCRATS (especially Barney ) for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment...to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!
(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie -starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy). Barney blocked it and called it a "Chicken Little Philosophy" (and the sky did fall!)
And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA
And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie?
OBAMA and the Democrat Congress, especially BARNEY!!!!

So when someone tries to blame Bush...
REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!"
Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving the economy into the ditch.
Budgets do not come from the White House.. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party.
Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For Jan. 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budget.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period:
