You know what pisses me off about this..

This was made illegal by using minorities -they used fear of what minorities would be like under the influence-
Not to mention the ads they use now -massively stupid- about pot now they are going to make it legal because they failed at managing there state's budget not because they know the war on drugs failed no because they want money. bloody hell

I've been saying it for years: legalize it, regulate it, tax it. where's the downside?
and there goes the gateway to harder drugs. if you buy it at the drug store or cigarette store, you don't come in contact with people who sell crack.

jfwiw -- alcohol was a gateway drug during prohibition. that's one of the reasons the 18th amendment was repealed. the fact that kids were getting it on the black market was another.

those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

Better projections than even the alcohol and tobacco taxes have provided. Let it be, and just do it!

Texas is fourth in pot consumption? I guess my friends and I don't smoke as much as we think we do.

That is really not that much money. Did they take into account that if you legalize marijuana that the consumer base would increase?

You're right. The only reason my wife and I don't smoke pot is simply because it's illegal. But then my beer consumption will go down.
