My previous respect for him has vanished.
Marriage, for the entire history of this nation, with the brief exception of Mormons and a few other groups’ brief forays into polygamy, has always been accepted as between a man and a woman. I and many, many like me do not want that definition changed. You may have whatever sectarian contract, ceremonies and other “binding” documents you like – the kitten it is not a biscuit, nor is this homosexual relationship a marriage.
I do not think homosexuality is a basis for successfully raising children or calling the paired persons a “family” makes it so. What is being hurt. No one individual, but the society as a whole loses a defined entity to look to for success in most people’s lives, that of a mother and father. This should not be one of those, “oh but look at the number of people who come from such backgrounds and they did well”, this leads to calling the exception the rule and the rule the exception. Yes, there are people who are born to crack addicted mothers and somehow manage to become contributing citizens, that logic does not however, lead to believe that we should subject more children to that environment.
I really could care less if you or anyone else wants to have intercourse with thier cat, but that is not a marriage either....it's real yucky, but not marriage and should not be called one.

happening in your own State right now!
