Are you sitting down?
Okay, here's the bombshell. The current volcanic eruption going on in Iceland, since it first started spewing volcanic ash a few weeks ago has, to this point, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet.
I know, I know... (have a group hug)...It's very disheartening to realize that all of the carbon emissions savings you have accomplished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of driving Prius hybrids, buying fabric grocery bags, sitting up 'til midnight to finish your kid's "The Green Revolution" science project, throwing out all of your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet tank reservoir, selling your SUV and speedboat, going on vacation to a city park instead of Yosemite, nearly getting hit every day on your bicycle, and replacing all of your $1 light bulbs with $10 light bulbs ... Well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just the past few weeks!
The volcanic ash emitted into the Earth's atmosphere since the eruptions began have totally erased every single effort you made to reduce the evil beast, carbon.
And, those hundreds of thousands of American jobs you helped move to Asia with expensive emissions demands on your nations' businesses... You know, the ones that are creating even more emissions than when they were creating American jobs... Well that must seem really worthwhile now.
I'm so sorry. And I do wish that there was some kind of a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud but the fact of the matter is that the brush fire season across the western U.S.A. will start in about two months and those fires will negate your efforts to reduce carbon emissions in our world for the next two years.
So... Grab a Coke, give the world a big hug and tell Al Gore to "Go to Hell!"

PUBLIC OPINION > Chris Christie Should Stay a Republican
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has been at the center of media coverage for a while now. But more recently, the buzz has been about his proclaimed political party -- and whether or not he should change it.

I've been trying to track the source of this story/article and so far have located it on various web locations back as far as early April 2010. So far, all the sites I've seen this on (any in many cases its been altered in some way to suit local conditions or the local political climate) have not mentioned where they sourced it from, but at least some of them acknowledge it isn't their story rather than passing it off as their own.

Call your Senators NOW and tell them to vote YES on the Murkowski Resolution, S. J. Res. 26!
http://capwiz.com/eagleforum/...
Last year, the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) officially declared that the CO2 (carbon dioxide, a gas necessary for all life on Earth) produced from burning fossil fuels poses a threat to human health and welfare. This declaration is often referred to as the EPA's "endangerment finding." President Obama and his liberal allies want to use this endangerment finding to justify rationing energy through the EPA. Of course, the EPA's endangerment finding is not about science. It is about regulatory over-reach. It will require massive regulations that will raise energy prices, destroy jobs, and cause further economic havoc, so it is critical that Americans call on their Senators to support the Murkowski Resolution when it is brought up for a floor vote!
The Murkowski Resolution of Disapproval of the EPA's "endangerment finding" would:
Prevent the EPA from regulating greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act.
Preempt any improper attempts by President Obama to impose closed-door, back-room deal climate regulations without input from Congress.

Remove any authority from the EPA to ration energy and increase energy prices, which would result in businesses cutting jobs and rapid increases in the price of consumer goods.
Serve as an early barometer of the Senate's willingness to address broader "climate change" legislation this year.
Send a strong message to the White House that both Congress and the American people do not want the EPA regulating the use and price of energy.
Put pressure on the House to vote on the very same resolution of disapproval.
Contrary to the deliberately misleading TV and radio ads that environmental pressure groups are running, all the Murkowski resolution would do is prevent the EPA from issuing greenhouse gas regulations. It has nothing to do with overturning science or gutting the Clean Air Act, nor does it prevent Congress from working on climate legislation.
The EPA has already begun to issue climate regulations, which will raise electricity and gas prices, and as President Obama promised during his campaign, his energy policies would cause energy prices to "necessarily skyrocket." Please call your Senators NOW and tell them to vote YES on S. J. Res. 26!
"There is no doubt that volcanic eruptions add CO2 to the atmosphere, but compared to the quantity produced by human activities, their impact is virtually trivial: volcanic eruptions produce about 110 million tons of CO2 each year, whereas human activities contribute almost 10,000 times that quantity."
http://www.scientificamerican...
The primary effect of volcanoes is to LOWER global temperature, not to raise it.
And that volcanic eruption in Iceland? It's not even a particularly major eruption. Its LOCATION has caused it to be an impediment to air travel, but in terms of environmental impact it's virtually irrelevant to those of us who don't live in Iceland.
