CIVIL RIGHTS LEADER RESIGNS FROM NAACP NATIONAL BOARD OVER GAY MARRIAGE ENDORSEMENT (AMEN! good for him!)

SK-LIBERTY OVER EQUALITY 2012/06/06 22:05:07

On May 28, World Magazine reported:

The Rev. Keith A. Ratliff Sr. said he is “in prayer” about his relationship with the NAACP following its endorsement of same-sex marriage on May 19…“I’m against same-sex marriage,” he told CitizenLink. “There are a number of issues that the NAACP has to address and deal with, and I certainly don’t think same-sex marriage should be a top priority.” Ratliff added that the gay rights movement should not be compared with the civil rights movement: “There is not a parallel between the homosexual community and the struggles of African-Americans in our country. I haven’t seen any signs on any restrooms that say ‘For Homosexuals Only.’ Homosexuals do not have to sit on the back of the bus, as African-Americans had to.”

Rev. Keith A. Ratliff Sr. is a man of God and as such is not fearful of taking a stand for righteousness. What racial minority would be flattered to be compared to sexual perverts?

Interesting the old guard civil rights coalition is breaking down. I wonder why they are trying to make gay issues into a civil right when it is not.

The N.A.A.C.P. is NO LONGER in the business of just looking out for the rights of " colored people " . Whenever a group gets Off Message and away from its intended goal ........... they have deminished themselves in the eyes of most members . I am SURE this is not the only member to feel " sold out " by the NAACP !

the sad part is the naacp does not really even support this. they only issued their statement after obummer issued his.so i would be willing to say their stance was more in support of obummer then gay marriage. the great divider strikes again! obama the great divider

He's absolutely right! with all the crap every person (regardless of color) is dealing with today, the last thing we need to spend out time on is Gay Marriage. Priorities! OZbama has his backwards!

Apparently NAACP leadership gets tired of liberals comparing their fight for homosexual marriage to the Civil Rights activism of the 1960's.

I can't say I blame them. There is no comparison.

There is a reason that the gay marriage vote went sour in California and that is because many in the minority population do not agree with gay marriage and do not accept it in their own social group.

Gays already have the same rights as straights. Equal ain't enough. You want more equal rights.

No! I think Gays should have the same exact rights as straights. If they had more/less rights than someone else that wouldn't be equal.

Is that an excuse? Garnering true intent from written word can be hard sometimes. I really didn't intend to proclaim you were bitching. I was referring to gays bitching.
