Civil rights advocates aim to 'shoot down' drones?
You've seen the video ... the line of Taliban marching on a mountain path ... the insurgent planting a roadside bomb to kill and maim Americans ... the order to launch the Predator drone's Hellfire missile ... the explosion that takes out the murderous enemy.
Since we don't have a lot of Taliban marching on mountain paths in the U.S., nor have there been reports of insurgents planting roadside bombs along America's highways, just who does Gov. McDonnell plan to target with drones?
That's what a leading civil-rights group is asking ...
“Vanguard Defense Industries has confirmed that its Shadowhawk drone, which is already being sold to law enforcement agencies throughout the country, will be outfitted with lethal weapons, including a grenade launcher or a shotgun, and weapons of compliance, such as tear gas and rubber buckshot.
“Such aerial police weapons send a clear and chilling message to those attempting to exercise their First Amendment rights by taking to the streets and protesting government policies – the message: stay home or you will be punished.”
Further are the dangers from malfunctions, breakdowns and other mistakes, including a takeover by a terrorist hacker.
“A rush to adopt this technology before it is properly vetted for safety and privacy concerns will invite the wrath of many Virginians

I am certain ACLU would advocate on behalf ot the government rather than on my right to change my underwear in privacy eh?
Did someone say some of these drones are as small as golf balls? Goodness even if i go to the driving range near my home my drives just under the 175 mark would be embarrassing.
The video I saw the drone was maybe 2 feet long. At two miles high it video'd canoers paddling down a river in HD. The men landed on a densely wooded shore and the remote control drone zoomed in to see an SUV and two other men. From two miles high they never had a clue.
The National Defense Authorization Act regularly comes before Congress for changes and additions, but the latest provision, S. 1867, proves to be the most powerful one yet in raping constitutional freedoms from Americans. Move over, Patriot Act. Should S. 1867 pass, lawmakers could conjure the text to keep even regular citizens detained indefinitely by their own military.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a supporter of the bill, has explicitly stated that the passing of S. 1867 would “basically say in law for the first time that the homeland is part of the battlefield” and could lead to the detention of citizens without charge or trial, writes Chris Anders of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Washington office.
Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H) sits on the same side of the aisle and agrees wholeheartedly. “America is part of the battlefield,” says the lawmaker.

You KNOW that it is no good when you add this to the fact that the government doesn't want you to monitor IT. http://www.time.com/time/nati...
Perhaps he left out the words to the Americans " I want YOU to be easly and perfectly observed by me, informed against to me by my minions " ? :)
Also, what about those rounds that miss their flying target? Few of these over the hill fantasy freedom fighters are marksmen. What goes up, must come down. Here in San Diego, we've had children hit by gun nuts shooting into the air to celebrate New Year.
Wing Nut Daily and Alex Jones are crazy. However, compared to this latest far right wing wet dream they're raving, their silly cornball conspiracies and the Birther fantasy look positively sane. It's time to bring back the involuntary commitment laws. Then, we can put these delusional paranoids into to a rubber lined room, where they aren't a danger to other people and themselves.
Apparently you missed the fact that they are doing an online TV show.
Geeze... people like you criticize conspiracy theorists, but come up with your own fake conspiracies all the time.
