In the years it took to catch up with Osama bin Laden, there were several officers working behind the scenes to find him. The details about one leading analyst in particular, whose persistence paid off, are now coming to light.

After Navy SEALs killed Osama bin Laden, the White House released a photo of President Barack Obama and his Cabinet inside the Situation Room, watching the daring raid unfold. Hidden from view, standing just outside the frame of that now-famous photograph was a career CIA analyst...His job for nearly a decade was finding the al-Qaida leader.

The CIA will not permit him to speak with reporters. But interviews with former and current U.S. intelligence officials reveal a story of quiet persistence and continuity that led to the greatest counter-terrorism success in the history of the CIA.

Are you interested to know more, or is the fact that bin Laden was found and killed all you need to know?

Keep this guy anonymous or he will become a target for those thugs. We need to protect those who are fighting for us. Only a traitor would expose this guy.

""They could also retaliate on the guy in the WH"" ?

I imagine there is probably members of Al-Qaida who would like to know more about him as well. The less we know the safer he is.

Any attempt to out these people should be dealt with, with finality. The fact that Seal Team 6 was ID'd at all was too much information.

It's done and over. I've almost forgotten about it. We have more imprtant fish to fry than trying to rehash this. They've given us the general perspective as to what happened. You think the CIA is going to give us all the specifics?.

No, I don't want to know more about him because OBVIOUSLY he is good at his job. And being good at his job is contingent upon him or her being under the radar, out of the spotlight and covert!

When this agent retires if he decides to write a book or novel about his past and what he accomplished, I will be one of the first to read/buy a copy.

I think things like this should be known to the public. I don't know about you guys, but I am tired of the government doing all these behind closed door deals.
We have no idea what is going on in these other countries, or why we are even their, and neither do many of the troops. And that's saying a lot.

It is elementary. He wanted to hide amongst our "friends" that probably helped him do it. They seemed pretty upset when we did. Because we obviously didn't let them know when we found where he was. Who knows how many times we did find out but the secret was blown by Pakistan or Afghanistan.

I want to know more... like the truth and not another fairytale from the main stream media... I think that most everyone wondered *WTF?* about dumping the body after 12 hours... very anticlimactic after 10 yrs of trying to catch him... I don't believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, The Tooth Fairy, or the official story of 911 either...

I would think that the quiet persistence is exactly what was needed instead of several trillions of dollars and so many fine soldiers lost, I hope that this good Man does not say a word beyond the vague depiction of the boring mind numbing efforts of hanging out in hashish bars playing Chess, drinking green tea with cognac with ice water chasers, Thank you good Sir!!!, and may your contacts and handles only be used with care and respect.

Yeah, I know but somebody somewhere was playing Chess, smoking Hashish, drinking Green tea and chasers with Cognac and ice water as the whole process involves a chain of people who live very boring lives.

I am tired of all the damn lies.. and more tired of all the people who still believe the lies. A large number of top intellgience officials and White House staff say Osama has been dead for for nearly a decade. Dr. Steve Pieczenik, for one, who is arguably the most highly recognized and decorated intellgience official in American history, developer of American psychological warfare techniques, former professor at the US War College, the source of Tom Clancy novels, and knew Osama personally when working as a CIA agent explains in detail the fact that Osama was terribly ill and died in 2001 from Marfan syndrome. CIA agents even visited Bin Laden in the American hospital in Saudi Arabia where he was being treated before his death. Besides Dr. Steve Pieczenik, a couple other White House staff in the Bush Administration said Osama was dead and that the administration was saving the announcement for a politically useful time. Given these contridictory statements and the repeated lies in government, is it not appropriate to even ask the questions?

Agree - to a point. If Bin laden's followers want to retaliate, isn't it better if the less is known about him, the better?
