Thank you Mr. President for all you are trying to do for this great country of ours.
jus maybe~~~ Pele' may just blow its top?? and ruin his vacation.
The President commented on how the story and life of Jesus changed the world - also, so true.
He shared about the Old Testament Law of the Prophets...."Do unto others as you would have them do to you!"
If the world would follow this simple truth...the world would be a different place but human nature is all about the word ME. It is good to reflect on the President's comments and all sides need to embrace that fact.
In terms of the political emphasis...there is none. He is the President of the United States and this get-together is not political; it is all-encompassing.
Most who do not like the President will never see the good side of this gathering- so sad. Although I am not one of his supporters....in the end it is not about him but his message of the night. Also, it was nice to see his two girls on stage.
The simple truth of Gandhi pointed out that believers need to walk in the footsteps of the one they follow.
Many are in it (as in all faiths) for the social club aspect, many are not.
I have many friends who would prove the quote inaccurate. Sad that Mohamed Gandhi had not seen the geniune article.
I am a relative new-comer and only respond to areas of interest (and to some of the questions of "friends"). I then rabbbit-trail on posts (that comment to mine).
There are a variety of individuals who are negative (read their posts but I steer clear of those people). My time is tooooooo valuable. I like debate. I do not post questions or even have ever given a "thumbs up."
Overall, my experience has been o.k. and for sure, I do not ask what his or her faith connection is.
Also, those who adore one person (e.g. President Obama, etc.) I notice are only willing to give his or her opinion. They care nothing of the facts. They have made up their mind and are using this forum as a way to expound (and verbally fist-fight).
In the end..I have developed a mental list of those specific individuals and I never respond to any of their comments.
I do like references though no matter what the source. Thanks for the comments.
Today's (Sunday, Dec 11, 2011) newspaper didn't have anything about his holiday plans. It's still early yet............
Admit it you just believe all the bullshit here and blame Obama for everything , even when a dog shits in out garden it is Obama's fault
You want to have your say, so you parrot some rightwing rant and think you look smart now..
Well, smart ??? I don't think so
And maybe you should count Bush's vacations , every time there was a crisis , he was on vacation
.
President Obama has taken 61 vacation days after 31 months in office. At this point in their presidencies, George W. Bush had spent 180 days at his ranch where his staff often joined him for meetings. And Ronald Reagan had taken 112 vacation days at his ranch.
Among recent presidents, Bill Clinton took the least time off -- 28 days.
To be fair, a presidential vacation away from the White House is not the same as a vacation for the average person. The president is still in contact with his advisers and on call for any emergency.
