Christie Strikes Again – Screams At Constituent

Few Republicans better embody the destructive thugs that the Right Wing has become than Chris Christie. Even putting aside his destructive agenda to gut New Jersey's education system and continue to hand tax breaks to his millionaire friends at the expense of the working people of his state (remember the trans-Hudson tunnel he cancelled, costing New Jersey 16,000 jobs?). This is a man who uses a taxpayer funded helicopter to go to his kid's soccer game, then has to use a taxpayer funded limo to carry his bulk the 200 yards from the helicopter to the game, and who seems to have as much disgust with his own constituents as he does a bathroom scale.

Christie Strikes Again – Screams At Constituent
By Michael Hayne
July 6, 2012
Professional YouTube Screamer and Tony Soprano-like Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, showed once again why he's a totally unstable heaping pile of juvenile outbursts who shouldn't come within 50 yards of the White House. As a resident of New Jersey, the gargantuan governor is starting to make Snookie and the entire cast of the Jersey Shore look like the Algonquin Round Table. Whether the virulently anti-union Governor is screaming at teachers for wanting to have a stake in their futures and the future of public education, calling an Iraqi war veteran an ‘idiot‘ for caring about a potential university merger, or wanting to take a bat to a Legislator, it's pretty obvious that Christie is a grown-up version of the fat bully who used to steal kids' lunches and make them eat dirt. Before you start accusing me of being a hypocrite, consider that Christie so willingly dishes it out with reckless abandon.
During a visit to the Jersey Shore, Christie got into a verbal altercation with a constituent, which apparently was filmed Thursday night and posted by TMZ.com.
Christie, holding an ice cream cone, can be seen shouting at an unidentified constituent, according to TMZ.
"You're a real big shot! You're a real big shot shooting your mouth off!" the governor shouted.

If there ever were a personification of the fat and obnoxious American, its name is Chris Christie and it's holding an ice cream cone.
It seems Christie confronted the passer-by after he yelled out a criticism of the Governor's education policy. And this man actually expects to engage world leaders and dignitaries on the world stage when he erupts into a Tony Soprano-like outburst at some unimportant constituent?
From the NY Times:
In the video, Mr. Christie appears to be furious, and he can be seen advancing toward the person, saying, "Keep walking away; keep walking," until a person who appears to be a bodyguard ushers the governor away.
An aide to the governor, who would not be quoted by name, said on Friday afternoon that Mr. Christie was with his children at the time of the incident, and that the shouting person had been using profanity.
Time and time again, Christie has shown himself to be totally incapable of handling criticism, however mild. Considering his constant vetoes of the millionaire's tax; coddling multimillionaires (his campaign donors); his political cronyism with regards to the Port Authority; and his so-called belief in ‘universal sacrifice' for some; it's palpably obvious that Christie is all about zealously protecting tax cuts for millionaires over property tax relief for middle class and relief for working class families and seniors. He's really no different from any other Republican these days, only at least he honestly acts like a total a-hole instead of pretending to be a human being.

Say what you will, but I like Christie. Sometimes Im a little tired of the diplomatically couched terminology and poise of Washington. Don't get me wrong, I do think Christie lowers the debate just a tad bit, but sometimes it's worth it just to see the unconventional guy go for it. His attack on Teachers Unions in New Jersey was beautiful and inspirational in really standing up for Education reform and students, even if it meant breaking the established norms of political debate.reply -
We can debate it in detail another time, but I don't think Christie's attempt to eviscerate the New Jersey educational system is anything he can be proud of.reply - Grabitz 2012/07/07 13:50:21
