We are surrounded by troglodytes. Are women ever going to learn to think for themselves?

Have you ever seen an ultrasound? Typical communist, changing the meaning of words to advance an evil ideology. It is a class A felony to assault a pregnant woman and have the assault result in the termination of the pregnancy without a live birth.

Never thought I would see the day we go back in time. Science should look into this and see if this is a fluke. Violating women's rights has set the state back 30 years and most likely will have it overturned.

Apparently, Mississippi already has "parental consent" laws, mandatory anti-abortion 'counseling', and a 24-hour wait between the brainwashing session and the medical procedure itself, requiring two visits to a clinic.

I dont care what stupid law they pass they will never stop those Good Christians that stll get Abortions...

Responding to a claim by some conservative Christian leaders that abortion is an evil perpetrated by non-Christians, the Center -- a private research group -- decided to conduct a study to determine whether Christians have a fewer abortions per capita than do non-Christians. They determined that Christians have as many abortions per capita than do non-Christians. They analyzed state-by-state data -- perhaps from the CDC -- and found that the rate of abortion is the same in the most Christian segments of the population as it is in the least-Christian. However, the most highly Catholic segments of the nation showed significantly higher abortion rates. 3 Can you say Hypocrites....

Neither. And it's better than having women getting abortions for frivolous reasons, especially late term...

Guess what? More back alley abortions will rise and more deaths of the mother and the fetus will go up as well. Is this what you really want. Proof is education has reduced the FRIVOLOUS abortions you claim happens all the time.

And there are laws that prevent late term abortions already so your answer is a little late in the year we live. We have given more information to the women that come in asking for one and have given them more choices to make as well.

Has shown that abortion rates have been on the steady decline and lowest since the 70's. Truth is rates of abortion are at an all time low thanks to EDUCATION. So go ahead and try to save both the mother and the fetus when the coat hanger doc makes his visit.

Indeed education does decrease it. I am mostly pro-choice, I just dislike it when people use abortion as birth control or because the baby has a small defect - it shows how little they care for their children - abortion is supposed to be a difficult decision, if not heart-rending, and this shows that some people just don't care about the sanctity of life anymore... They should use their abortion education to teach people that foetuses are alive, not playthings. And by late term I don't mean after it's viable, about 10 weeks before that.

I feel about the same on this. However, when we see where a fetus gets a severe illness where it won't live past a day or two I see the need to be humane on this. But for a time we did have women and mostly in poverty use it as a birth control rather than spend it on real birth control products.

What cracks me up are those who oppose PP for their help with couples that want to start a family. The huge majority of their work involves educating them on starting a family where as less than 3% are abortions.

Just imagine if we had no abortions allowed. The population would likely reach 4 billion and the death rate of women would climb due to the hacks working on them. Scary how people fail to see the need for safe abortions where the future mother can have another chance when she is ready.

If it will have a poor quality of life for whatever reason, then yes, it's fine. But I do think that abortions should be very limited after it is a fully functioning human, I mean, by the 4th month it's a complete human, and it can feel pain. It can even dream, tell me that's not a human at that stage. I think abortions should only be in quite extreme cases when it requires a partial birth abortion. Before its heart starts beating, you can do whatever you like with it, and in between it should be like an animal - you can abort it if you have quite a good reason, as long as you don't cause it unnecessary pain.

Well said and I might add that I think after the first trimester they say abortions should not be allowed unless extreme circumstances such as the life of the mother is at risk.

I think the trimesters are a bit arbitrary for something this important, I think when it's fully formed or is too big for ordinary abortions they should be heavily restricted...

Problem is the doctors have said so in courts and congress that it is still a fetus till after the first trimester so it is not a human till then that is why abortions are legal till then.

Restrictions I see but we are going back to the hacks out there that will still do it regardless of the life of the mother. This is what I do not want to see happen so till they can prove a better way leave it alone.
  • Anonymo... Glfer65 2012/07/01 11:38:13 (edited)

Well, I think it's still a foetus until the 12th week, which is obviously the end of the first trimester, but because this is when it is complete and it can feel pain, not because it's the end of the trimester. The same with my first stage, which is based on whether it has a heart beat or not. And I think it should still be legal in some respects until the baby would need to be aborted with a partial birth, around the 20th week, which is the definitive end apart from the worst circumstances, such as bad physical deformities or if the mother would die if she had the baby.
