Christian Dior Designer John Galliano Fired for Anti-Semitic Slurs: Was That Fair?

Instead of being fired for all those silly hats he wears, John Galliano, the former head designer at French fashion house Christian Dior, was fired for being an anti-Semite.
Galliano faces charges of racism as several women have come forward, alleging that at a Paris restaurant, the 50-year-old said he loved Hitler and that their parents should have been gassed, according to The Daily Telegraph. In France, anti-Semitic abuse is a crime punishable up to six months in jail.
The British fashion designer has lead Dior to unprecedented growth and is a favorite with celebrities such as Kate Moss and Kylie Minogue.
Dior first suspended Galliano after two woman told police that he had hurled anti-Jewish abuse at them. Then this week, a video surfaced that shows the designer abusing other women, saying, "People like you ought to be dead, your mothers, your forefathers would all be f***ing gassed. I love Hitler."
Dior fired him on Tuesday after the video surfaced.
The fashion designer has denied that he is racist and has filed a defamation lawsuit against the first two women. The irony is that none of the women who have stepped forward are Jewish.
