The Capitalist in me says: Pfft, he was of more value to society than those brats. He should have just let them drown.
I'm so thankful I'm a Liberal =P
I am pro-choice. I will remain pro-choice and until the foetus is no longer dependent directly on the mother for nutrition (aka no longer connected to the placenta) I regard them as nothing more than a Parasite, absorbing nutrients and giving nothing back in return, except for a helluva lotta back pain, hormonal imbalances, weird and unusual cravings, bad tempers, greater vulnerability to disease... and then at least an 18 year drain on your personal economic future, giving absolutely nothing back to you personally.
...wait...I sound like a conservative nut...meh whatever. A tapeworm is a parasite, a foetus is a parasite and it should be purely up to the woman whether they want to carry that parasite to term. If the father wishes to give up parental rights, that is his choice but he cannot force her to either have an abortion or prevent her from having one. Ever. Because every individual has the right to do what they want with their bodies without fear of retribution.
That said there's a huge difference in extracting and destroying a tape worm and shooting something that's independent.
Guess what. I am proud about being pro-choice and I will be as long as I live.
