Chicago Mayor Takes Heat over Chick-fil-A Comments?

~ The Rebel ~ 2012/08/02 04:24:22
Perhaps not all those living in Chicago share the "Chicago values" espoused by Mayor Rahm Emanuel. It turns out that some local religious leaders are fighting back against the mayor and voicing not only their displeasure with his comments but their support for REAL values.

"Do not disrespect us...We, too, are Chicago," the Rev. Charles Lyons of the Armitage Baptist Church thundered from the pulpit Sunday.

Cardinal Francis George also criticized Emanuel's stance, asking in the Catholic Chicago Blog if everyone who did not agree with Emanuel faced a similar fate.

Ooooooh. Those guys are really going to regret using their public office to threaten private citizens. Or maybe this was a distraction from tyrannical legislation going through the Senate. Anyway, I'm glad people are coming out of the woodwork in support of freedom of speech and freedom of religion.

Good to hear the pastors are standing up for their faith as well as our freedom of speech and free marketing/enterprise. I enjoyed my chick sandwich and shake yesterday from Chick-Fil-a. Going this Friday just to go ahead and buy in spite of those who want to take away others' rights. Chick-Fil-A has always been nice, clean, and serving good food. They do not refuse to serve anyone or deny hiring anyone based on his or her bedrm behaviors AND they provide JOBS. The salary may not be the best but it beats no salary and the work is honest and honorable. Good night now.

I am so glad to hear that there are good people in Chicago who still support freedom of speech, freedom to believe what they want, family values. I am glad they are speaking up about this.

Everytime I see that Rahm Emanual video on TV, I think "what the hell are
Chicago values?" Its the murder capital of the country with mostly Black youth
being slaughtered daily on the streets. Most of the time it is just between gang
neer do wells, but when you see some Black student who is honor roll status
and wanting to get out of the ghetto by sweat of his own being, it is extremely
sad. It reminds me of Charles Payne who raised by a single mother along with
two brothers in Harlem, and he wanted to be a businessman........... He is a
productive citizen now with a good family........ had he lived in Chicago, he may
never had gotten out alive. Charles Payne

This is a great piece! As it shows that Rahm Emanuel is not in anyway interested in the idea that in a Democracy there is diverse opinion!

That in mind the better question is why do Citizens elect him? Lol...or do they?
