Yes..., CNN does deserve to get mocked for caving in to the loss of it's number one status by FoxNews, and changing it's unbiased reporting to a right-wing leaning media source.
lol
but seriously Journalism is dead, the cable snooze networks are more about ratings than God forbid facts, most have been corupted by the infotainment mentality
These types of presentations are a mockery of the "news" delivery industry themselves.
I try to avoid opinion news entertainment, whether its on cnn or fox or any other broadcast network. I like being accurately and truthfully informed of the news. It doesnt have to be delivered in an overt melodramatic, argumentative, or as suspense filled situation horror drama "show",
I like my news straight up, just the facts first please.
When I want the other type of entertainment, I'll watch the Game of Thrones or reruns of the Jerry Springer Show.
Your first paragraph says it all Eden. In this day of 24/7 "news", they are all nearly killing themselves to report the news first with little concern for facts. We watched the clip of Fox's pundits, the happy, giddy faces as they with the most of solem of deliverance, (although their delight was hard to mask), "that the Supreme Court struck down the Bill". Then just minutes later, they couldn't disguise their foolishness with a mea culpa. At least Fox corrected itself in 3-4 minutes while CNN rattled on for no less than seven.
I remember my folks talking about the infamous broadcast that sent people actually commiting suicide rather than "be taken over by aliens"!! I think in today's high tech world it would be pretty hard to pull something like this again, but boy, did this country go hysterical.
I'll agree that the likelihood a radio broadcast of a alien invasion wont stir suicidal hysterics in todays world, but I do believe that what happened in 2000 with the inaccurate announcement by NBC on Florida's election results was a direct result of a national community relying in such a technologically advanced communication from a trusted medium and source.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?... http://www.washingtonpost.com...
Just one of many temporary "Tech" screw-ups in broadcasting that leaves many falsely informed, and when a retraction is made later, its often too late to do anything about.
Whether its War of the Worlds hysteria based on misunderstandings or News entertainment melodramas of inaccuracies, deception and misinformation.
The end result is someone is deceived. And that, is never a good thing.
Not to forget, WMDS, Yellow Cake Uranium, lol among many other things... Dont forget to support G.Beck's sponsors and BUY LOTS OF GOLD and support the economy at the same time!!! End of Days is near.....LOL
Yes and so does FOX.
Apparently the President was watch CNN when this came over the news. He heard it and just walked back to his office. It wasn't until an aide came in with two "thumbs up" that he finally got the correct message.
Luckily I had overslept and missed the wrong announcement by about ten minutes.
Oh but Pat, it would have been your entertainment for the day if you hadn't overslept, lol. The heartbreak of the pundits was a joy to watch. Errrr you notice that MSNBC the demon of the Right as usual, waited for facts to report. lol
Well, I'm glad I didn't see the initial reports. I think my head would have exploded! I was prepared for the court to overturn the healthcare program and I don't take disappointment well. But I must say I enjoyed seeing the pundits being thrown into such a tailspin when they found out!
They so badly want it to be struck down. Thank God, Angels were watching over every single person in America that will someday need Health Care. Even Mitt Romney is happy that the Court upheld the Law!
People who care want Obamacare, People who don't care want a Republicans Donkay!
CNN didn't deserve to get mocked for jumping the shark!
Clicked the wrong option. The most disappointing part of this story was that CNN usually does the best when it comes to delivering "breaking news". This time was a complete blunder that may forever scare their reputation. Oh, still better than fox. MSNBC may be the the propaganda arm of the DNC and Fox News may be nothing yellow journalism and corporate fear mongering but that doesn't exempt CNN from actually having standards. It seems that in order to gain ratings CNN tries to use hyper-partisan viewpoints to convince people that they are not bias. No, really all you're doing is combining the bias of MSNBC and Fox together then peddling it as non-partisan. Still better than Fox but still disgraceful when compared to old CNN. Whatever happened to investigative journalism?
Ahhh, but the so-called "propaganda arm of the DNC" waited while the avowed "propaganda arm" of the Right made as usual, utter fools of themselves. Go figure.
Well in CNNs effort to be just like Fox they have succeeded, now they are truly the other station in news that is not to be trusted. Just like Fox, way to go CNN you turned Ted Turners vision into a circus station.
They are always trying to be first and often at the expense of accuracy. Remember the first Bush/Gore elections where they kept calling which state went for whom and then reversing themselves?

Fox and CNN both fail at this, apologetic or otherwise.
Lets try to avoid another 1938 entertainment broadcast mistaken as an actual event.

LET'S NOT FORGET THAT FOX ALSO JUMPED THE GUN AND WAS WRONG!
