Obama wants to change the subject with a gimmicky policy like the buffett tax rate. He ignores that if Taxmagedon strikes, The lower and middle class will pay substantially more taxes to the Government. Call it the unadvertised side effect of Obama's failed leadership. We all should pay a flat tax.

Another great ad! I think whoever is coming up with these ads is right on the mark. They zero in on the real differences in the visions of Obama v. Romney and lay it all out in terms people can understand. They're doing a great job! Keep 'em coming!

More on point than not.....I still have a little trouble even as a Democrat, with the idea that the wealthy should have to pay more.....I think they just need to pay their fair share.....no loopholes and special tax exemptions.(personally, I would like to see a flat tax where everyone pays the same percentage.)

    HMM,, interesting and balanced reply..

how do you feel of the 47 % that pay no , ( as in zero, nada, nothing , zip ) federal tax ?

so much attention ( by obomma to distract from the economy going backwards because of obomma policy ) is upon 1 % of the population , and obomma hides from the truth that
    47 % do not pay..

and of the 1 % or the 47 % , which group do you think is draining the economy by receiving the entitlements ??

think about this, one group pays tax and receives no entitlements , and the other group does not pay federal tax and gets all the entitlements ??

now let's open up the discussion on fairness with that topic... :)

    flat tax ? I agree

or how about consumption tax ? you buy lots of stuff , you pay lots of tax ... just saying

Obama has not kept one single promise.
Obama is a puppet of the Banksters he has surrounded himself with.
He was agianst NAFTA and GATT while voting for it.
He was against the Patriot Act while voting for it.
He was for closing Guantanamo while doing everything to expand it.
I could go on and on.
He is a liar and a fraud.
    He works for Goldman-Sachs

I refer you to the bill and the 20 taxes that are new or increases in existing taxes. The payroll tax increases alone will affect every American wage earner. Increased employer contributions to payroll taxes will merely be passed along to consumers. Those two changes alone encompass almost everyone.

First of all, the ad is clearly about income taxes, and not anything else.

Second, about attacking Obamacare on taxing (and I note you don't actually document any of them, not even the one specific one you mention), who cares? The reforms are VITALLY needed. They will save tens of thousands of lives per year and end the suffering of not having health insurance for MILLIONS. Americans are willing to pay for the vital needs of our country, and this certainly is one. Attacking it merely on cost is bogus and heartless. To be fair, I do think it is lame for the Democrats to not defend it on the grounds of need and morals like this.

    From the tax code:

    "Statutory Payroll Tax Deductions
Payroll taxes must be withheld from an employee's paycheck. This is required by law. Employers must hand these withholdings over to various tax agencies. Payroll tax deductions include the following:

Federal income tax withholding (based on withholding tables in Publication 15)
Social Security tax withholding (6.2% up to the annual maximum)
    Medicare tax withholding (1.45%)
    State income tax withholding
Various local tax withholdings (such as city, county, or school district taxes, state disability or unemployment insurance)."

It is disingenuous to segregate income taxes from payroll taxes, and claim that no one making less than $250,000 will pay one cent more in taxes. More smoke and mirrors from the regime.

Soon, 0bama will be saying he is #2 in the polls and Romney is next to last.

Go check the FICA rate increase in the bill. Apparently, you suffer from the smae impediment as Princess Pelosi. Tou can't read, or won't read, for fear that you will find out what the bill really is before you tout it.

I will not spoon feed you. I worked for the info. The source is available to you. Perhaps after you spend a couple of weeks inside this abortion from Congress, you understand my disdain.

I do not expect spoon feeding, merely basic and expected documentation/support for assertions. And fairly good spelling. You fail on both counts.

You also seem to assume that finding any tax increase at all in Obamacare invalidates it, that is, justified or not. That's just plainly bogus for any reasonable person. What's your excuse, then?

Congrats on finding out how to use an ettsett around here, though.

Oh, I assure you I do all my own typing (making full use of spell check), AND I'm fully informed on Obamacare.

Therefore, I know full well how little the tax code has to do with Obamacare. Only heartless jerks oppose Obamacare for potential tax effects (keep in mind that ALL "effects" are "potential", since it is not en effect yet).

Goodie goodie for you. Glad you make a good clerk-typist. At least, it's an honest endeavor.

Taxes reduce disposable income. Less disposable income shrinks the economy and robs jobs, reducing disposable even more. When the increases in taxes are realized, the only winners will be the lawyers.

Its jobs first, then we may stand a chance to afford the "affordable".

It's still nonsense. Slight changes in tax rates have hardly any effect on job rates, while slight changes in demand may well do so.

No good businessperson hires or fires anyone due to a 3 or 4 percent change in taxes, but a change in demand for their product may well make them hire or fire someone. Disposable income does not get people hired, a need to produce more product does.
  • Don Leuty Spizzzo... 2012/10/27 16:45:09
    Don Leuty
Taxes reduce disposable income. Less disposable income = less demand. Lower demand for products means lower demand for the labor to produce and distribute products.

Again, nice theory, but so negligible an effect as to be nearly undetectable. Especially at the level of the tiny tax rate change contemplated.
