In Emergency Session, U.N. Declares Florida a Rogue State

Status of Democracy ‘Fragile,’ Spokesperson Says

emergency session declares florida rogue status democracy fragile spokesperson

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)
– Calling the status of democracy in the Sunshine State “fragile at
best,” the United Nations met in emergency session today to declare
Florida a rogue state.

The actions by Florida Gov. Rick Scott to purge the voter rolls in
his state might have inspired the vote by the U.N., but as the
spokesperson for the U.N. Secretary-General said, “We’ve had problems
with elections in Florida before.”

The vote means the U.N. could soon dispatch a team of observers to
Florida, led by diplomats from such democracies as Egypt and Libya.

Gov. Scott’s voter purge was only the latest in a series of events
“that reveal a near-total breakdown of the rule of law in Florida,” the
U.N. spokesperson said.

“This is a state where people have been killed for carrying Skittles
and iced tea, or had their faces eaten off by zombies high on bath
salts,” he said. “And now this thing with Rick Scott.

Excellent article. In reality the ACLU is suing Florida, the DOJ is investigating violations of the Voter Rights Act, so UN intervention may not be far behind.

We don't want a repeat of the dabacle that they called an election when gore lost to Bush and when the ballot boxes were removed from a secure location. This is the same place where the ballot was discuised so that people were not sure who they voted for.

Florida cheating again by removing names from voters rolls

I know this is satire but....Florida is and has been in the past a rogue state when it comes to the voting process. It would sure be a wake up call for this country if the U.N. actually had to intervene in our election process. We all know that something is wrong with our voting process, voter registration, counting ballots etc. Once a population loses confidence in its election process, that's when you have a revolution with fighting in the streets, the cities, the 'burbs and you might even get the military turning on the government. It happens elsewhere and we are really no different. This country is splitting apart at the seams and we had better get our act together or this country will find itself in the middle of terrible political upheaval.

There are so many things that if another country outside the US did there would be perpetual calls to stop the crimes against humanity. Lucky(or unlucky) for us, we have more guns and dollars than anyone else, so we get to do what we want with impunity. :P

Time for the GOP saboteurs to be stopped. Next thing if not stopped will be gun toting white teathugs at the polls intimidating Democratic voters. There is no voter fraud yet the right keeps perpetuating the resurrection of dead voters and illegals showing up to vote. Shows how desperate they are to put a white man back in the white house if they are trying to purge and/or disenfranchise out millions of voters for the president.

If the article above substance was reality and not satire I think everything I stated below would be fantastic for those who believe in ethics and fairness to witness.

I feel if the U.N. dispatch a team of observers to Florida, the act in itself will alert the attention of Americans throughout the country of a consistent effort in specific states that's ran by right wing governors to suppress the votes in many different ways.

I think Americans will start to see how the Republiconteabaggers are trying to take their voice away at the polls, etc.

The people will stop buying into this fake voter fraud myth that's constantly repeated by the right wingers and their allies. This will feed into the belief by majority of Americans that the Republiconteabaggers are trying to hurt the economy hoping it will help them to win the White House. I believe the people will finally say there's just too many coincidences which will result in them turning against the right wingers at the polls.
