The issue of Womens Rights has been one of the most difficult issues we have had to address in human history. The reason isn't as simple as it would seem as the weight of history defined our roles and the inequalities we find ourselves dealing with today. These inequalities did not just affect women as we often treat humans little different than animals meaning that while women might be property... men are expendable and it is because of this that we find even in societies ruled by women, men would still be masters in their own homes and play the same roles as in male dominated societies.
With any effort to find equality, we must remember that those who seek special rights for one gender while trying to deprive the other of their rights is not equality... it is simply another form of discrimination meant to alienate and manipulate people against one another for personal gain rather than what is best for all.
In this group, we will discuss gender issues not from the point of view of womens rights... but the rights of both genders so we might find true equality and define our roles for the future instead of always addressing the wrongs of our past.
For there to be equality... two must act and think as one for the best interests of both instead of always thinking about ourselves and one gender against the other.
This group will also discuss issues such as sexual orientation as gay vs straight issues tend to revolve around the same issues as gender rights between men and women. As we move into the future, traditional lifestyles will change because the modern world is advancing so fast that change becomes an everpresent reality.
