Catastrophic nuclear reactor meltdowns like Fukushima could happen every ten to 20 years - scientists

\V/ 2012/05/25 05:03:34
-German scientists say meltdown could happen 200 times more often than previously calculated --Researchers call for international phasing out of nuclear energy 24 May 2012 Devastating nuclear reactor meltdowns like those at Chernobyl and Fukushima could happen every decade, according to a disturbing new study. Scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz, Germany, fear similar catastrophes could occur around the world every ten to 20 years - 200 times more frequently than previously thought. And they said people in Western Europe have a higher risk than anybody else in the world of being affected by radioactive fallout from such a disaster.

Yet we in the USA are using taxpayer money to subsidize Nuclear Energy Power plants.
The main problem with renewable, safe, geothermal and other forms of clean, abundant energy, is that once the hardware is paid for, who is going to send you a bill?
The ulitilies along with their little servants, the Republicrat politicians who work for them, not for us, want to keep that money flowing, from us to them.
Hence, Nuclear energy and "clean" coal.
You!

I wish the planet would just bite the bullet and fork over the costs of the cleaner and safer forms of energy, such as wind, solar, water, geothermal etc... We have essentially been buying time by cleaning whilst making a mess of the planet, which is not efficient in the slightest. It is like trying to clean during a party...the party has to stop before everything can be properly cleaned otherwise cleaning is futile. If we as a global community can stop the party and clean then we will be much better off in the long haul. Such a task however Is costly, time consuming(approx half a century to complete globally) and would thus come at great sacrifice of wealth(for every nation), and possibly even freedoms(such as taking no longer being able to take long showers or run the house lights all day). All in all...After this reconstruction period all nations economies, and livelihood will begin to soar again.

here's a creepy thought... notice when Obama said to open drilling for oil, suddenly BP fiasco... then all oil drilling shut down, oil rights GIVEN to China.

Notice when Obama stated building more Nuclear power plants, Japan gets hit with an earthquake and a nuclear disaster hits...

    coincidence??? seems way to suspect.

It is all about greed for more money. They don't want you to know the real truth about
Nuclear Power Plants. Then they would have to give in to finding safer and
renewable energy which wouldn't bring them all the profits they get from
    Nuclear Power.

Meanwhile all the sheep who follow all the lies the Government tells them,
continue to call the wide awake Americans "liars, idiots, & really dumb
people. Is that why Colorado is using so much Solar & Wind Energy,
because it is a dumb idea? I think not! Especially since Denver
International Airport plans to go completely Solar!

Or more. The generators need to warm up for 30 minutes before having to carry a load. But as a backup for a reactor, they need to carry a load immediately. When that happens, the generators blow up. At Fukushima, 2 failed before the tsunami even hit.
