Cantor: House will vote on repeal on July 11

doofiegirl POTL~PWCM~JLA 2012/06/29 20:01:38
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said Thursday that the Republican-led House will vote on repealing the health care law soon after the July 4 recess.

Cantor, who sets the floor schedule in the House, said in a statement that the House will vote on the repeal the week of July 9 – which Cantor said will clear the path for “patient-centered reforms that lower costs and increase choice.”

There is no need to repeal. The house has the power to remove funding of this law, just like any law that subverts the Constitution or the funding of illegal wars and military action. If they were truly serious, they would simply remove the funding, end of story.

Probably more symbolic than anything at this point. With Dingy Harry and a Dem majority in the Senate, it probably won't go far. This, of course, is not to say that I am against it! This needs to be done and we the people need to continue to put pressure on those who seem to forget they work for us!

More wasted time on a symbolic gesture. Wait until Dirty Harry is not SML.

They need to get the Senate to follow, and you know that won't happen. Damn it!

In reality this isn't going to accomplish anything but nothing else is going to happen until after the election so they might as well, pass a repeal in the House and loose in the Senate.

It is a complete waste of time and they just want to further stamp the democratic party to this legislation. It isn't needed. Perhaps more than even the failed 'war on poverty' the health care bill is 'branded' to the liberal idealology of the democratic party.

The only way this legisation will avoid being a historic disaster for the democratic party and the country is if the GOP wins large enough in 2012 to repeal it.

What a loser he is! Even if the House passes it, it will not pass in the Senate. It is a big waste of time, and our nation has REAL problems that they should be trying to solve, instead of wasting their time on political stunts. They were not elected to perform stunts!

Cantor's mantra, like all the right-wing extremists - "agree with us or die"! I don't respect him and believe he has only his own interests in mind!
