Can’t A President Take A Summer Vacation?

Obama has been getting hammered this week over news that he’s taking a vacation this weekend with his family in Maine. With unemployment still close to double digits, the Gulf oil spill capped, but still a disaster and any number of other pressing issues, detractors are wondering if the President deserves to take a break at this crucial time.
Keeping in mind that it is summer and the President, like all Americans, is entitled to some R&R, but to put it in perspective, in his first year in office, George W. Bush spent all or part of 69 days on vacation (part of a staggering 977 full or partial days W spent at Camp David or his Texas ranch during his two terms taking either vacations or “working” vacations) compared to all or part of 26 days for Obama.
This is the President’s third vacation since the BP disaster started in April and the Republican National Committee has launched a site called “Play Golf or Save the Gulf?” criticizing some of the activities Obama has engaged in since the leak began, including attending concerts and political fundraisers, golfing and the announcement of the “job-killing” drilling moratorium. Obama has also been blasted for going north instead of visiting the Gulf, which he’s advised Americans to do, according to CNN.
Though the images of Obama golfing while the situation in the Gulf continues to be grim could be bad p.r., former advisor to President Clinton Paul Begala said “the president is the president wherever he is. I thought it was silly when people attacked Bush for going on vacation, so I’ll be consistent and say it’s silly when people attack President Obama for going on vacation … Of all of the concerns that Americans may have, they do not need to worry whether President Obama is a hard-working man. They may agree or disagree with his policies, but there is just no doubt that the guy is busting his rear end."

According to the records, President Bush took some 954 days of vacation while he was President. That is equal to almost 2 1/2 years he was doing other things. He double the time Ronald Reagan took(435 Days vacation). I don't get this President Obama doesn't work deal. He'll never come close to Bush in the time he takes away from office.
It's all slow murder, plain and simple, millions will die, and that is very likely, and no amount of proof will ever change anything, cause everyone at the top is corrupt and us, me and you, we are all quite expendable.......

Either way, he is stripping our rights away at breakneck speed, and the clock is ticking for many people's lives and futures right now, especially with BP running the east coast government like some sort of tin gods.

And, obama tells everyone to continue to support tourism in the Gulf (like we had any money left from after his obama induced economic coma!) while he goes to Maine? WTF?

I deal in facts,.. and most of what I've read here about Obama are FEELINGS.
Everytime someone comes up with a new whine,.. I go check it out. MOST of the time it's baseless,.. or worse,.. if I ask them directly they get rude and childlike for my having the nerve to QUESTION their feelings.
