Can you debate somebody without name calling and disrespect?

If you have a cogent argument it's quite easy. However, the problem arises when someone can't distinguish between attacking an argument and attacking a person.
Politicians often have that problem.

but reason ,logic and facts can't be handled by too many. they insult,name call and then block.

Yes I can, not many people are able to do that on here. I was just called and illegal alien, but I responded to that person with a lot of respect and with a rational response. I didn't call him one bad name. I am so proud of myself. (:

I can, and have many times. Not sure about that 'respect' part though. I don't respect people who make their dissenting opinions into hateful diatribes about those they disagree with, although I've never called anyone a 'name'.
Hate is an over used word, no doubt, but it is evident on SH, that some people really are consumed by 'hating" or disliking those they disagree with politically. Just like the real world; sigh..........

Yes. When I first started on SodaHead, I debated respectfully but what I found was that many on here either aren't capable or aren't willing to debate respectfully. They are looking to pick a fight, not exchange ideas. They are looking for an echo chamber of their own beliefs and they attack anything that challenges their beliefs. So, now I generally debate respectfully until the other person shows that they are not serious about reasoned debate. Then, all bets are off.

His wife, Van Jones, Valerie Jarret, the entire Chicago political machine and many more all members. all his current czars. Obama has voiced his displeasure with our form of government and said china being a dictatorship is easier to govern. He has voiced contempt at our Constitution and said it was poorly written and unusable. He has stated that in a conflict he will stand with the Muslims and he has, on more than one occasion. He recently said that Catholicism is not a legitimate religion. He was the only one who could have ordered a stand down in Benghazi while he sat and watched Americans die. He has dismissed from their posts two honorable men without cause. Is it disrespectful to tell someone they are a communist with a progressivism facade? I at least do not use profanity on screen. The air here gets a little blue at times.
