Realistically, it doesn't matter WHO we put in office, Republican or Democrat. There isn't much REAL difference between the two major political parties-- they both want the same thing, just over different timelines.

And neither one actually wants to help solve any of the issues facing America-- they just want to be back in the position of power.

Do you think that could lead to "Balkanization"? And if it did do you think that would a good or a bad thing?

well balkanization hasn't happened in Canada they have multiple political parties so does most of europe, as for whether it would be a good thing or a bad thing in many ways it would be both. the big question is with a country the size and scale of america with so many diverse and often conflicting cultures and moral standards is it an inevitability? it would be bad because without that cohesion we can't be a super power but on the plus side each state is independent from one another and can address their own issues more clearly and wouldn't have to put up with states with conflicting values.

I'm pretty content and no matter the candidate Americans will just pick the craziest. However I'm for Ron Paul.
