Can things get any worse for Republican Nevada Senator, mistress' husband says he broke the law and is still pursuing his wife?

Bob™ the Union Ironworker November 23, 2009 18:47:27

Doug Hampton, the friend of John Ensign who discovered the Republican Nevada senator was having an affair with his wife, sat down with ABC News to discuss the ongoing scandal. Hampton accused Ensign of breaking ethics laws and said he believed Ensign was still pursuing the illicit relationship in 2008.

"I think he's absolutely at this time pursuing her," Hampton told "Nightline". "He's absolutely fixated on Cindy ... He's in love with her." According to Hampton, Ensign told him, "I'm not going to apologize for how I feel. Not only am I going to pursue the relationship, you can't work for me anymore."

Hampton also accused Ensign of helping him line up lobbying clients.

"There's no doubt," he said. "Why would a client hire Doug Hampton if he didn't think he would have access to John Ensign's office? It's the only reason I would hire him."

There are so many of these guys...they turn my stomach! Doesn't matter the party affilation to me at all. But the hypocrisy of the Right IS pretty amusing. These "Family" guys...the C Streeters...are the worst of the worst IMO. Just cheating, lying, holier than thou creeps who wouldn't know respectful, responsible behavior if it was to trip them and they feel into a vat of it.

Typical republican hypocrite. He threw a lot of stones at Clinton while he was banging his mistress. What a scumbag...he's in good company with mcCain, Gingrich, Larry (airport bathroom) Craig...all bible-quoting christians from the so-called family values party. HYPOCRITES and PERVERTS!

why the fuck do you have to make this a one party issue? this is typical of legislators on both sides - you don't get it, we good and decent republicans repudiate this type of behavior despite party affiliation - of course Clinton is the only one who lied to a grand jury about it.

what about the claim that the GOP is the family values party...in fact that was one of their planks in a recent election. So when a conservative republicans flings crap all over the values he espouses I like to call it out. Sure democrats do the same thing but then again they never claimed to be the guardians of american morality.

I find it strange that this guy is complaining about the pursuing. Shouldn't his wife "take care of it" herself? and get a restraining order?

It would be nice to see you do something addressing Wrangell, Daschle, Goettner, if you were sincere about justice. I mean I see a clear partisan slant to your two questions. Come on Bob, don't tell just one side of the story.

What about Daschle and Goenther? Rangle is being investigated and if charged and convicted he should go to jail, he is not charged. But these to guys were all over Clinton back in the Day, hypocrites. Gryphon I am showing the whole story, Those othrer gentlemen are different story and there are enough cons posting stuff I don't need to.
