Can the states declare independence from our government?

This sounds crazy, but what if we created a Second Declaration of Independence, from THIS government? Can't we start over if we want to? Print our own money, abolish the Fed, kick all of these politicians out at once, and RE-affirm the Constitution?

Yes it is crazy, and no states cannot declare independence from our government. That was settled conclusively 145 years ago. And you can't "RE-affirm the Constitution" by violating the Constitution.

I wish those states that want independence from the goevernment should be allowed to because we don't need them. Our country would be better of without those non American, spineless trators. You not American Patriots, nor believers in democracy on which our country was founded. Please leave so we can become stronger and move towards a United States again.

The governors from each state need to band together and give Congress and the President an ultimatum - resign immediately since you are not following the Constitution. If not, we reserve the right to use whatever force is necessary to accomplish is goal.

A super majority of states can call for a convention, A 3/4 majority can amend our constitution. We are getting there. In November be sure and vote for constitutionally minded STATE legislators and this will help

A return to the gold standard, eliminate the income tax and go to a VAT, Eliminate the amendment where the senators are elected by the public and not chosen by the state legislators

Sounds like a great idea but why create a 2nd Declaration of Independence, we can just take this one as it is not being used. No Feds but don't like the money part either, we should deal strictly with gold & silver.

As for the 14th Admendment, I feel that it is null & void when they ignore the 10th.

For those who say no, and give the War of Northern Aggression as example, then I say that our Revolution against the Legitimate Government of King George III of Britain was illegal, and we are Subjects of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

lil barry HUSSEIN soetoro is illegitimate, in BOTH ways, therefore we have a DUTY to stand against him.

You'd be doomed to repeat the lesson you failed to learn, the lesson of the confederacy.

If I'm remembering correctly, the 14th Amendment made it illegal for states to secede. However, if enough of them do it, there really isn't much that the Federal government can do to stop it. It boils down to numbers. If enough people want change bad enough and are willing to get shot at (and yes, that is what it would come down to) for it, the union will disolve and either be replaced by a new union or the various states will go their own ways, possibly forming smaller countries. Making something illegal from a technical standpoint doesn't make it impossible from a practical standpoint.
