Can Obama run on his record or does he need to use distractions and lies?

Since this post is a Contard Convention I will put it this way. The 2001 and 2003 UNFUNDED (deficit-exploding) MANDATES that include the ill-conceived corporate-colluding Bush/GOP tax cuts for the wealthiest top 2%, the abhorred and ineffective "No Child Left Behind," and Medicare Part D swallowed whole the Clinton-created SURPLUS (Suskind, 2004) and then proceeded to drive this nation deep into debt. The ALWAYS-FAIL "supply-side" (upside-down pyramid scheme or the Great Depression-causing "horse and sparrow"*) right-wing economic policies coupled with massive deregulation that unleashed bottomless-pit nation-destroying GREED, price-gouging on gas; corporate-colluding and corruption; the OUTSOURCING of our manufacturing jobs base (as also occurred under Reagan/Bush-Bush/Quayle, according to Bartlett & Steele, 1999), and drunken-sailor GOP-totalitarian SPENDING from 2001 through to 2007---not even one veto from Bush!...These failed policies had the United States of America falling off a giant CLIFF fiscally speaking---housing and credit market collapses predicted in 2004 and again in 2005 by NPR's "All Things Considered" but not corrected by the Bush administration or the Repubicans in House and Senate; the FINANCIAL SYSTEM MELTDOWN (see "Frontline: Inside The Meltdown" from PBS, available online); not including the costs of either war (the ILLEGAL one in Iraq and the one in Afghanistan) on the budget books to give the public a false impression that our economy was "okay"; hemorrhaging of more than 800,000 jobs each month; stock market in chaos...all of these conditions were in place on January 20, 2009 when President Obama was sworn in.
