They can have sinful content, if it were real, but you're not sinning by dreaming of it. My opinion, at least.

You can dream of "sinful" activities, but I don't actively control our dreams enough to consider them conscious decisions.

No, you are unconcious. To commit a sin you have to first know it is a sin and then consent to doing the action. You cannot give consent when you are asleep!

They're either your subconscious OR a message.

Murder is a sin and people have dreams of killing someone.

Gluttony is also and people have dreamed about food in mass amounts and they're the consumer.

If you are going by the tyrannical catholic dogma, having impure thoughts is actually sinful so an impure dream is definitely a sin. Then again eating meat on a Friday is a sin punishable by death and selling your daughter is perfectly acceptable.

Wrong. It is a sin to have an impure thought, maybe not a deadly sin, but a sin all the same.

I never said it was logical. Most religions were originally created around the basis that humans are inherently evil, Original Sin. It was a means of control over the uneducated masses. Religion has evolved since then which is why I said in the original catholic dogma, not today I heard at morning mass.
