Fit to Be Tied

And finally, a proposal making its way through the California legislature is being called another example of "nanny state" politics.

It requires all hotels to use fitted bed sheets.

The Los Angeles Times reports it is backed by housekeepers' unions, who say maids hurt their backs lifting mattresses to replace flat sheets.

Opponents say politicians should be fixing the budget, rather than regulating bed sheets.

Then the maids should get a job that doesn't require lifting mattresses. The government must be stopped. I am so glad I don't live in CA.

Wow, it looksd like the only way to save flat sheets in CA if for gay men to start putting them up their butts. (that would get Happy Meal Toys back, too)

The politician who introduced the bill said his mother, who worked as a house keeper at a hotel had a bad back from having to use flat sheets. You can tell he never made a bed in his life. My back hurts using a fitted sheet as well. Man they are idiots out there.

I agree. Fitted sheets go on nice and tight, but you have to lift the matress more than with a flat sheet.

And what if the fitted snapped back...the dreaded ricochet? And took somebody's eye out?!
O no...give me a break. I have been changing my own sheets since I was a teen and if you use your LEGS AND STOMACH MUSCLES LIKE YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO...its quick and easy. This is another sham to live off the government.

careful with those pillows...one could drop on your head and you will have lifetime migraines and have to go on the government dole.
