Bush’s Daughter, in a Break, Endorses Gay Marriage

jt 2011/02/01 08:22:13

Barbara Bush, one of the twin daughters of George W. Bush, will endorse same-sex marriage on Tuesday, publicly breaking ranks with a father who, as president, pushed for a constitutional amendment banning such unions.

I suspect most people from that age group would considering the push by liberals and Hollywood to present the G & L lifestyle as mainsteam.

It appears she takes her views on such matters from her more liberal mother. Based on their past behavior, I wouldn't count the Bush daughters os sterling examples of moral rectitude.

I knew there was someone in that family that is smart! Maybe she can teach her father how to be human.

    Don't know, don't care. Note: I didn't ask and didn't tell.
At this point, the Bush's are irrelevant. You can't go beating that drum forever.

She is just trying to please Madonna who snubbed her back in 2000 and it still will not help her with the brain dead liberal left. The gutless appeasement gene must run in the Bush family.

It might be prudent to wait to hear what she says - we all know how extreamly rare it is (?), but the media has been known to get things a little screwed up, a lot of the time. But, if she does, so what?

... and if a prominent liberal's daughter came out AGAINST gay marriage, we'd never hear a peep about it in the liberal media.

After all, didn't the liberal media just get through ignoring at least 200,000 people who marched in DC the other day against abortion?

The headline for this story should read: "W's daughter supports gay marriage; liberals take a break from calling the whole family 'stupid' for once"

Way to go for individualism. She is strong enough to make up her own mind about issues and courageous enough to publicly proclaim them. I would think any parent would be proud, even if they disagree.

Would you be saying that she is strong enough to make up her own mind, if she came out AGAINST gay marriage?

Believe it or not, there are times when someone makes up their own mind about something -- and adopts the same opinion that their parents hold.

Yes I would especially if she is not afraid, like now, to publicly express them. That's true, but at those times it's easy for parents to be proud of their kids. The true test comes when your child steps out on her own and has opinions that don't agree with yours. So, I still think Bush would be proud of his daughter for speaking about her beliefs even if he doesn't agree.
