Barbara Bush, one of the twin daughters of George W. Bush, will endorse same-sex marriage on Tuesday, publicly breaking ranks with a father who, as president, pushed for a constitutional amendment banning such unions.

It might be prudent to wait to hear what she says - we all know how extreamly rare it is (?), but the media has been known to get things a little screwed up, a lot of the time. But, if she does, so what?

Way to go for individualism. She is strong enough to make up her own mind about issues and courageous enough to publicly proclaim them. I would think any parent would be proud, even if they disagree.

Believe it or not, there are times when someone makes up their own mind about something -- and adopts the same opinion that their parents hold.

Yes I would especially if she is not afraid, like now, to publicly express them. That's true, but at those times it's easy for parents to be proud of their kids. The true test comes when your child steps out on her own and has opinions that don't agree with yours. So, I still think Bush would be proud of his daughter for speaking about her beliefs even if he doesn't agree.
