"I've expressed my grave concern about the disproportionate response of Russia and that we strongly condemn the bombing outside of South Ossetia," Bush told NBC Sports.
Putin criticized the United States for viewing Georgia as the victim, instead of the aggressor, and for airlifting Georgian troops back home from Iraq on Sunday.
"Of course, Saddam Hussein ought to have been hanged for destroying several Shiite villages," Putin said in Moscow. "And the incumbent Georgian leaders who razed ten Ossetian villages at once, who ran elderly people and children with tanks, who burned civilian alive in their sheds — these leaders must be taken under protection."
The Georgian president, Saakashvili, voiced concern that Russia's true goal was to undermine his pro-Western government, which has sharply angered Moscow by wanting to join NATO. "It's all about the independence and democracy of Georgia," he said during a conference call.
What do you guys think? Does this make Bush a hypocrite?

Many of you are all tied up in the Bush bashing that can't see what is going on. If this battle grows and it could it may involve most of eastern Europe. Which would bring NATO in to play and if that happens we are in play. Open your eyes and clear your hate, your bias is dominating you!!!View thread

Russia saw an opportunity to attack and took it. That is why the world is condemning the attack.

By this logic if Russia got Mexifornia to claim independence and attacked the USA the USA would be the villan?
What authority does the usa have going around nation building for big oil?
In Georgia as Iraq and others it was the ol' set up the US Dictator Trick. Then the bullies on the schoolyard (NATO) pick out a victim to pilfer, riches to be divided. US commanded Nato troops to ATTTACK RUSSIA! Russia responded. Sadam was tried and held accountable for crimes against humanity etc. Who ever set up this Non Georgia leader and attacked Russia should be entitled to the same justice. Incidentally all this sticking our US nose were it does not belong historically has not worked out for the people we were "helping" . The taxpayer pays for the venture and politician’s puppet masters get filthy rich. If we had a conflict we need a Patton not a General that sits in an air conditioned tent eating lobster while our troops die. Blackwater is paid more than our troops. Meanwhile we are in a country bigger than Texas for years trillions in debt. The rich love it and are not about to leave. The media has done a masterful job brainwashing the US population.
