Burger King "Whopper Virgins": Offensive or Harmless?

Burger King, the second biggest burger maker in the U.S., next to McDonald's. BK's latest ad campaign is generating a lot of controversy though... it's trying to prove that the average person prefers the Burger King Whopper over the McDonald's Big Mac. The BK ads are all videos of people from countries and places that never eat hamburgers, taste testing the Whopper vs Big Mac. Burger King advertises that they travel "to find the most isolated people in the world" making it the "world's purest taste test."
Here is one of them:
Some people are finding these Burger King ads to be controversial and offensive because of the name of the campaign: Whopper Virgins. Others are finding it offensive and insulting because of the use of poor villagers as their test subjects. What do you think?
For those Burger King lovers, check out the Burger King Cologne

The oddest thing about the whole 'Whopper Virgin' thing is, what does that mean about me since I've eaten a whopper? Does Burger King perceive the eating of a Whopper to be, on some level, a sexual act in which Burger King engages in coitus with the Whopper-eater? Are we being sexed by the Burger King when we eat there?
Think of your children eating a Whopper for the first time. Burger King is deflowering them. Ditto for these individuals overseas. All of them are getting sexed. They are getting Whopper Sex. MUWAHAHAHAHAHA!!
BURGER KING: "Are you ready to lose your whopper virginity, little lady?"
LITTLE LADY: "Can't you tell I'm already staring at your, um, whopper deflowering agent?"

this is about as offensive as as the word "poop"
"No humans were injured in the making of this commercial..."
1. They adulterate the use of the word "virgin".
2. They think that the viewing audience is so stupid that they will believe to carefully selected comments by people who have never before tasted a hamburger (would they show someone spitting it out?).
3. They provide no objective information about the nutritional properties of their "food".
that, this commercial has absolutely nothing for Hmong people to feel
proud about. The producers of the commercial went around the world
looking for the most archaic civilizations in existence, and found the
Hmong living in Chang Mai. This series of commercials by BK are not
intended to highlight the cultural uniqueness of these so called
"whopper virgins." Instead, these commercials paint these cultures as
primitive and out of touch from the modern world. While there is
something to be said about, and perhaps even be proud of, a culture's
ability to remain autonomous despite the encroaching world, that is
not the aim of these commercials.
gets too complicating when people start over analyzing the commercial. not like we look down on them or make fun of them because they are "out of touch from the modern world."
just enjoy the simple humour of the commercial.
