Russell Brand isn't funny and most of the British people I know don't find him funny. He's one of those comedians you either like/get or hate/don't understand, I fall into the latter category.

Of course some people like her because she shares their beliefs, not because shes good-looking but there are a large number of people, even among her detractors, who think shes a very attractive woman.
He is a comedian (who I actually cannot stand, incidentally). It is his job to exaggerate and to be tongue-in-cheek and controversial. Take his words with a pinch of salt.

It's only foul, because it wasn't funny. When comedians make controversial jokes and no one laughs, it usually ends up backfiring. As for characterizing the Brits, because of one unfunny comedian; some of the people who have commented are making themselves look just as foolish as Russel.
