BREAKING: Obama Embraces Marriage Equality

President Obama has come out in support of marriage equality for gay and lesbian people in an interview with ABC News’ Robin Roberts this afternoon:
OBAMA: I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.
His endorsement comes less than a week after Vice President Joe Biden embraced the issue during an appearance on Meet The Press and a day after North Carolina banned marriage equality and civil unions in its state constitution. During the interview, Obama stressed that he personally affirms same-sex marriage, but says the matter should be left to the individual states.
The president last made news on the freedom to marry 560 days ago, when he told progressive journalists at the White House that he is evolving towards greater acceptance.
Obama’s remarks today bring him full circle to his position in 1996, when he was running for the Illinois state Senate. In response to a questionnaire from Chicago’s Outlines gay newspaper, he proclaimed, “I favor legalizing same-sex marriages, and would fight efforts to prohibit such marriages.” You can thank President Obama for completing his evolution here.

Yup - I'd say he went "in the right direction".
As for your "flag" comment, I can only assume you mean the rainbow flag. There are 5 pure colors, or 5 primary colors: White, Black, Yellow, Red, and Blue. All other colors are based off of these 5. So, don't give me any crap about purity, there, either. At least they have a flag. We, heterosexuals have nothing to stand behind. Then, again, we don't need anything, either, because we are the majority. As the majority, it is our duty and privilege to look out for the minority. Unfortunately, there are those who hate and despise minorities, and want to see them eradicated. I can only assume, by your posts, that you are one of those.
NOTHING could be further from the truth.. There was nothing stupid in this at ALL and Biden did EXACTLY what he was TOLD to do.. Biden was sent out there to test the waters so that Obama could gauge the reactions.. .. He was the point man in Obama's Distraction by Division tactics..
Stephanopolis did the SAME exact thing with Contrceptives,, Biden did it with Gay Marriage.. ANYTHING to take the FOCUS off Obama's Dismal Record.. It's the " Pit American against American " tactic that has,, frankly,, worked very successfully so far..
Watch and see.. the NEXT one will involve the elderly or the children or maybe the veterans or the disabled.. Or it'll be the RACE thing again.. And when they've gone through all of the issues they'll just start the whole damn thing over again..

Obama spins the wheel and THAT'S where he's going to DIRECT the Headlines ( and his WAR of DIVISION ) and the focus for that day.. They make the MOST of it and then go on to the NEXT one..

Obama has clearly stated, "I view marriage in the classical sense between a man and a woman." HE is Christian.
During this statement, Obama basically said he supports the cause, but he is in favor of the state making the decision.
