MEXICAN Cartel ARMY Invades TEXAS Ranches

July 24, 2010 · 14 Comments

BREITBART UPDATE: Via Big Peace! (Update 2 story is now 100% confirmed by second source within the Laredo Police Department)”

BONUS: “We can neither confirm or deny” statement! Translation — the story is true, and we need to massage a few items. By the way, Kimberly Dvorak will be posting an update later, and we will link as soon as it is available. A bit of the back story:

There’s a story unfolding in South Texas, of a possible hostile takeover of two Texas ranches located near Laredo by a Mexican drug cartel. The source of the story, the site Diggers Realm which posted they’d received a tip-off two Texas ranches located south of Laredo had been seized by a Mexican drug cartel with the ranchers escaping without incident. According to Examiner. com, the local authorities, the Laredo Police Department, won’t officially confirm the story, while officials within the department, under conditions of anonymity, confirmed a Mexican drug cartel hostile takeover of the two Texas ranches with the Laredo Police Department seeking help from the Federal government. DBKP talked with the spokesperson for Chief Carlos Maldonaldo of the Laredo Police Dept. who told us:

“We have been advised to say nothing. The Webb County Sheriff is taking the lead on this and they’re advising that they can’t confirm anything either.”

Why “take the lead” if something hasn’t occurred?

NEW UPDATE: From intrepid reporter, Kimberly Dvorak: Los Zetas drug cartel seizes 2 U.S. ranches in Texas .

In what could be deemed an act of war against the sovereign borders of the United States, Mexican drug cartels have seized control of at least two American ranches inside the U.S. territory near Laredo, Texas.

Two sources inside the Laredo Police Department confirmed the incident is unfolding and they would continue to coordinate with U.S. Border Patrol today. “We consider this an act of war,” said one police officer on the ground near the scene. There is a news blackout of this incident at this time and the sources inside Laredo PD spoke on the condition of anonymity.

However, in the interest of full disclosure, some people are refuting this story: No, Texas Hasn’t Been Invaded. I would like to point out that my friend who requested this posted has law enforcement sources in this region who are reliable; add to this the information Kimberly has, and there is a compelling reason to believe something serious is occurring. Furthermore, as was discussed on the John and Ken Show yesterday, the level of drug violence is increasing dramatically along our border and has been for the past 6 months. I am monitoring this situation, and am told a local news team is investigating and will have a video report. If I get additional details, I will post them.

UPDATE: Kimberly Dvorak, reporter with the Examiner here in San Diego, has just gotten confirmation from LPD that Zetas are holding at least two ranches on U.S. territory NW of Laredo, TX. Its confirmed! Local law enforecement is waiting for Federal Forces to arrive before trying to take back the ranches.

Dear Readers: This article was sent to me with a request to spread the word. It has all the makings of 1848 redux, with a side of narcotics.

Area Invaded by Los Zetas, from The Cypress Times

BREAKING: MULTIPLE RANCHES IN LAREDO, TX TAKEN OVER BY LOS ZETAS

The bloodbath continues along our southern border and now word is coming in that Los Zetas, the highly trained killers formerly with the Gulf Cartel, have crossed into the United States and taken over at least two ranches in the Laredo, Texas area. I am receiving word that the owners of the ranches have evacuated without being harmed. As of this hour I cannot confirm 100% on the situation (I am at around 90%) – though the source is law enforcement in the area.

The ranches are said to be “near Mines Rd. and Minerales Rd. about 10 miles NW of I-35″.

Whether it is lone members or squads is not certain.

Anonymous sources in law enforcement in the Laredo area tonight have passed on word that US law enforcement agencies are in the area and are weighing their options regarding the ranches. The media has been silent on this incident and some law enforcement in the area says that they are furious that the media is not reporting the whole story of the continued violence along the border. Their frustrations are understandable because keeping the truth suppressed continues to hamper law enforcement from receiving the true support they need along the border.

It is obvious that with the lack of of supervision of serious “adults” in Washington, the rest of the world is going “Romper Room”. God help the Texas Ranchers, so that none of the end up slaughtered like Arizona Rancher Robert Krentz.

Please spread the word if you can. Local law enforcement is desperate for more attention from the media…and back-up from federal agents to take back U.S. Soil. Any help in getting this news out would be vital, as its seems we can no longer rely on the elite media to focus on anything truly meaningful to the average American.

You!

Hang on! The last report I saw from Michele Malkin said it was not a true report. I am waiting to hear more. I do however think you are all right when you say that it is coming so if this was a true report we would not be surprised.

There was nothing about this in any of the local papers. This would be BIG NEWS if this had actually happened. The fact is, if this is a hoax, which I believe it is, this still does not minimize the violence which is happening on our border. We have gone from helping illegals passing through our ranch , to keeping a wide berth from them. The game has changed as we are now not only dealing with poor people coming across looking for a better way of life , but with dangerous drug smugglers and human traffickers. As easy as it is to cross the Rio Grande, it is ludicrous to allow such open borders. If a Mexican farmworker can find his way across, you can bet that a terrorist can. The coyotes will lead anyone across the border, for a price. The number of non Mexican crossers are rising daily. To turn a blind eye to the additional danger of terrorists crossing over, is terribly naive and destructive.

Congress!!!!! What the hell is it going to take? After all the strong Republican dominated Congress lead by a contingent of conservative Texas Reps. and Senators and Bush was from Texas, have been in control and let this border situation get the way it is for over 16 years.....wanna play politics with something like this? Put the blame where it belongs on international corporations who have had the Republican majority in Congress dancing to their tune for many, many years.

grammie, the problems goes back much further than 16 yrs. Yes, Bush and the Republicans as well as Democrats are to blame for not wanting to touch this issue. We can play the blame game for years to come but exactly what good does that do? We are in a pickle and the escalated violence on the border is now moving it to the forefront. I was born and raised on the Tex/Mex border and I have seen nothing like the violence which has occured in the past few years. The cartels are encouraged by the inaction of Washington, under both parties rule.

Invasion: Gangs, gun battles at Tex-Mex border; Updated: No US ranch seizures, 51 bodies discovered in Monterrey
    By Michelle Malkin • July 24, 2010 07:11 PM

    Scroll for updates…

There’s a new outbreak of disorder at the southern border this weekend.

The AP reports on gun battles plaguing the region across from Laredo, Texas:

Late-night gunbattles with gangs who forced citizens from their cars and used the vehicles to block streets paralyzed a border city, sound of gunfire alarmed Texans on the U.S. side of the Rio Grande.

The Nuevo Laredo city government posted messages on Facebook warning citizens to stay indoors as the battles erupted at several intersections in the city across from Laredo, Texas.

Frightened people on the U.S. side of the border called emergency dispatchers after hearing the gunfire, Laredo police spokesman Joe Baeza said Thursday. But he said there was no spillover violence.

“We were getting reports from people who live on the river’s edge that they could hear gunfire and explosions from the Mexico side,” Baeza said.

“We didn’t have any incidents on the American side. It’s hard for people to understand who don’t live here,” he added. “They’re not Vikings, they’re not going to invade us, it does...

“We were getting reports from people who live on the river’s edge that they could hear gunfire and explosions from the Mexico side,” Baeza said.

“We didn’t have any incidents on the American side. It’s hard for people to understand who don’t live here,” he added. “They’re not Vikings, they’re not going to invade us, it doesn’t work that way.”

Nuevo Laredo city officials said they could not immediately confirm witness reports that several gunmen were killed.

Despite those denials, rumors are swirling of a Zetas-led invasion into Texas ranches. Digger’s Realm, a veteran immigration blogger, has the story:

The bloodbath continues along our southern border and now word is coming in that Los Zetas, the highly trained killers formerly with the Gulf Cartel, have crossed into the United States and taken over at least two ranches in the Laredo, Texas area. I am receiving word that the owners of the ranches have evacuated without being harmed. The source is law enforcement in the area.

(Update 2 story is now 100% confirmed by second source within the Laredo Police Department)

Founder of the San Diego Minutemen Jeff Schwilk tipped me off to this story and passes along the following information on the location. The ranches are said to be “near Mines Rd. and Minerales Annex Rd about 10 miles NW of I-35″.

Update 1 (Statement from Mr. Schwilk)

I can personally vouch that this info came in late last night from a reliable police source inside the Laredo PD. There is currently a standoff between the unknown size Zeta forces and U.S. Border Patrol and local law enforcement on two ranches on our side of the Rio Grande. The source tells us he considers this an “act of war” and that the military is needed on the border now!

More from Kimberly Dvorak at the San Diego Examiner.

Update: Elizabeth Kilbride has contradictory info from the Laredo PD regarding the rumored ranch seizures:

Individuals who have flooded the switchboards of the Laredo Police Department and the Webb Sheriff’s Department have been asking one question: is there a problem down along the border? They have received the same response just as I received when I asked the same question, “Yes, there is a problem down here and it’s serious,” said one law enforcement source. When asked if there is any truth to the rumors of a Texas Rancher having their property taken over by the Cartel on this side of the border their response was clear, “Hell no and I’d know, I’m a 9-11 operator.”

As you can see it’s all about how you ask the question in order to receive the correct answer when inquiring into such a seriously volatile situations. When you call any police department along the border and ask if there is a problem down their way, of course they will say there is for sure. They deal with border issues every day and yes, there is a serious problem down their way. Therefore, please be sure to ask the right questions before posting out to the masses about this issue. I for one am guilty today of doing the same as all of you, which is why I made the phone calls and asked the right questions to quell this situation once and for all.

Confederate Yankee also called Laredo PD: No ranch seizures.

    Meanwhile, in Monterrey today:

Investigators said Saturday they have found 51 corpses in two days of digging in a field near a trash dump outside the northern city of Monterrey, as excavations continued at one of the largest clandestine body dumping grounds in Mexico’s bloody drug war.

The attorney general of Nuevo Leon state, where Monterrey is located, said the victims included 48 men and 3 women. There so many bodies that authorities were using refrigerated trucks to hold them, Alejandro Garza y Garza told local television.

About ten years ago my best friend, her kid, my kid and i went down to Laredo so we could shop right across the border. It was even holy hell back then. I had bought a dozen of quart size bottles of vanilla and placed these all up against the door along with a chair so we would know if there was an intruder trying to get in.....It was quite scary, it was very loud, several voices all night long also, during the night someone jiggled the door knob several times. We got the hell out of dodge the next day but not before my friend insisted we go further into Mexico to the bull fights. I said hell NO!! I received the silent treatment for a couple of hours but like i told her ---- she is going to end up dead on the side of the road if she refuses to take heed in life circumstances such as this. She is a free spirit and that's good but not a good combination to have in visiting Mexico border towns....So, it does not surprise me things are now way way out of control at border towns these days.

tiredkitty, really hate to break this to you and others in this great nation of ours but, this is more the norm on the border than not. Heck look at AZ and the ceded land they have had to give up. This is war, only our chief does not see things the way a real POTUS should. I have a friend that has a cabin and deer lease around Laredo and has to chase the illegals out of the cabin every time he visits the place.....

I live on the Texas/Mexico border, not far from Laredo . There is no information at all coming across about this incident. We have friends in Laredo and they know nothing about it. I am hearing from some that it has been confirmed and from others that it is a hoax. I am praying it is a hoax as we too have a ranch on the border. However.. perhaps it will take something like this to wake up the nitwits in Washington to the problems we face on the border. A very good source for border news is here... http://www.borderlandbeat.com/

Yes.. we do fear it down here. I live 9 miles from the border and have many friends across the river. What is happening here is outrageous. Businesses are being shut down , across the border , due to the violence as well as the money the cartels are forcing them to pay, just to stay opened. I have good friends who have a very popular restuarant on the other side of the border, which has been operating for over 50 yrs, and owned by the same family. They are now most likely going to close down due to the lack of customers and the high bribes they are forced to pay.

It makes me so sad to hear that. It is scary times. The government is doing as much for this issue as it is the oil spill. It is all about the agenda. It is so in our face. I hope something will change before it becomes a wasteland controlled by guns and fear. I will be praying.

The violence across the border is escalating daily. We have a business in Reynosa, Mexico. Our employees have been forced to flee indoors due to gunfire in the streets. We have a mortician friend there as well who has told us that he has had members of an unknown cartel stop by in the middle of the night with a truck load of bodies . When asked who would pay for his services if he took them in, they said they could not be responsible. He refused to take them and the truck sped off. The next day it was reported that 8 people were killed on the streets of Reynosa. Those stacked inside the bed of the pickup truck were not counted. When reports say there were 8 killed, you automatically know there were probably at least 3 times that many. Reporters are not able to report due to threats by these cartels. So many of the reporters have been killed or have disappeared. They are now threatening reporters on the Texas side of the border as well. They are also reported to be sending members into our schools to recruit young, poor , students to join their gang. The fact our government is doing NOTIHNG about this is tantamount to treason , as far as I am concerned. But this is nothing new... the administrations before Obama did little either. Bush is a Texan and he knows exactly what is going on down here and yet his attempts to secure the border were weak. Obama has an entirely different agenda. HIs is sinister, dangerous and inexcusable.
